Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
These pants are comfortable and pragmatic, however they are not durable. I've had two pair, and after about two months the stitching in the back pockets and along the center seam of the seat has started to fray and come undone. I have had problems with poor seams on two other North Face items, and because of this pattern I do not plan on buying their products in the future.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
Durable construction and great features, these pants feel like they could last me forever. The material feels thick but soft and comfortable. Plenty of pockets and zip-off legs, perfect! The front pockets are cavernous; they go all the way to the zipper for the legs. The only concern I have is the butt seam feels a little short. When I bend over at the waist, they ride up a little, if you know what I mean, really is not that bad. The zip-off legs have zippers at the ankle to facilitate taking them off without taking off boots, I think these pants are great.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
These are comfortable and nice-looking (as long pants, that is), but their poor durability has been very disappointing. Specifically, a new pair developed holes in the back pocket during a hiking trip, and I've heard similar complaints from friends. Also, since the short's 7.5 inch inseam is definitely on the high side they're not exactly something most guys will want to wear around town.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
The pants are great for travel. I just came back from 2 weeks of travel in Mexico. I took 2 pair of pants, this was one of them. The front pockets are deep, utility side pocket is good for cell phone, the leg zipper pulls are colored red for right and blue for left. Long length good for tall (i'm 6'3")folks. These are breathable, but they are not a light fabric. The shorts are a little on the short side for tall folks. The crotch area is also a little tight, i think the rise length could be a little longer. Overall I am happy with these pants and would say TNF has made a good product.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
I buy these just for the shorts. The legs go in the trash. The shorts suit all my needs in terms of length, quality and style. I wish they would make these as shorts only so I could buy more at a reasonable price.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
The seam in the seat has begun to unravel about two months after purchasing. I mostly used the pants for casual wear and a few day hikes. I expected a more durable product from TNF and will attempt to return these to REI.

I went to survival school for a week and these pants were great. They where light enough during the hot day but thick enough for the cold nights.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
I'll just preface this with saying that I rarely ever give products 5-stars. The pants aren't perfect, but they are the best I've ever owned. They are water repellent, but not waterproof (not even close). They don't breathe great, but...they are pants. Wear shorts, or zip the legs off if the legs are gettin' sweaty (though the shorts look pretty dorky on me). The material seems tough enough - I gashed it lightly with a hedge trimmer and the damage was minimal. I'm 6' 4" and the large long fits me great. I use them to do work outside in the yard, hike, backpack, and am taking them on my trip to Europe this summer in case the weather ever drops below 90 degrees F in the Mediterranean (ha!). Hope this helps somebody

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
Excellent pants. The pockets go down to my knees which I have never had in any other pant. They breathe well and keep me nice and cool. I wear these while hiking and casually.

Comments about The North Face Paramount Convertible Pants - Men's 34'' Inseam:
Took these pants brand-new on a trip through Central America early in 2009. Fit was loose, as I like, and use was gentle. Seam in seat came unraveled three weeks into the trip. Fabulous pants otherwise, but of little value falling apart while new.
