Comments about Mountain Hardwear Navigation Pants - Men's:

I use these pants around town and on every adventure I go on that I need long pants. These pants stretch in every direction and they are not as uncomfortable in warmer temperatures as the description might lead you to believe. When I need to wear pants in warmer weather expeditions the zippers on the legs (not offered in other soft shells I've looked at) make them comfortable. They are excellent in warm weather. My last weekend was at 0 degree weather and I wore these pants with the 2nd level MTS and was comfortable the entire weekend. Get these pants! I'll be getting the tan color now that REI is carrying them again.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Navigation Pants - Men's:

Just got back from a trip up Mt Shasta. Very good for mid to cold temps. Encountered rain, lots of snow, etc. and the pants performed very well. Buff enough to handle cold temps (25F the morning of the ascent) some random crampon "snags" and block wind. The built-in "gaiters" that also zip off easily are high quality and stay put. Not water proof, but very water resistant, excellent liners. Long thigh zips for venting are a nice touch. Quality pants, highly recommended.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Navigation Pants - Men's:

I've been in the market for a softshell pant for a while. The thigh vents and removable gaiters are superb touches that for me separates this pant from competitors. Sheds water very well, extremely durable, and great stretch for more dynamic moves. Best for cooler weather but used these in the desert and didn't overheat. Thigh pocket is nice when wearing a harness. low profile waist is nice for backpacking. thigh and rear pocket zippers snag at times when using one hand. two way front fly would be nice.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Navigation Pants - Men's:

I was looking for a pair of pants to replace my hard shells on tough snow climbs. These are exactly what I was looking for - Breath better than expected, almost no wind makes it through the material, great venting options when overheating. Thought they may be a little short since I'm 6'2", but the Larges were the perfect length. They are even better than the Mtn Hrdwear Alpine pants which are designed for this application, but a few $$ more. Even when sitting in the snow for short periods of time I still stayed dry. Would not recommend them for warm adventures as the material is a little heavier than standard hiking pants.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Navigation Pants - Men's:

I use these pants for all my outings. These are my second pair to purchase. They are Great!
They are very similiar to the old summer weight Mountain Hardware "Pack Pants" which I do not see available anymore (to bad). However, these are excellent and I will buy another pair for a back-up. The scree cuffs are a very nice feature and the side vents on the legs make them comfortable in warmer situations.

These are great. I've worn them on spring ski trips in rain/snow. I've even worn them rock climbing. I was never cold, wet nor bound on a move. I can't give 5 stars because the waist is too big for me. But I still always reach for these except in the middle of winter.
