The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
My children have already been using their sleeping bags even in the house for sleep overs, tents, and sleds for going down the stairs!!!! The only con is that we would love to have a larger tote bag to put the sleeping bag in. It is hard to compress all the air,and put into the tote bag.

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
What my son loves: My son loves the way this bag looks and that he is the envy of all of his friends at sleepovers. He especially loves the pocket so he can stash his ipod and small flashlight which makes going to sleep a lot easier.
Camping: This bag is very comfortable and warm. As for it's size, it is rather large and fluffy (the reason for the 4 stars and not 5) and we have a 2 yr. old daughter with the girl style of this bag so the 2 bags take up a lot of space. Until the kids are able to tote their own stuff in, we have been hiking into areas we can get a wagon to so it has worked out just fine for us as we don't usually carry them ourselves. Like everyone else, I wish they could stuff smaller but then they probably wouldn't be as comfy as they are. The lining soft and comfortable and during the summer it makes a comfortable blanket to sleep on top of.
Durability: My son's is over a year old and it still looks brand new.
Bottom Line: It is absolutely perfect for the money.

I have three of these. I'm glad I do, they get used a lot for sleepovers, but also for camping of course. Kids stay warm, the hood shape works great for holding their smaller pillows in place through the night, and the "secret pocket" is perfect for the one small item (like a shiny rock) they want to hold close. I found the stuff sack quite adequate, and easy to get in and out. They also fit in the washing machine. My friend didn't want to spend [$]on kids sleeping bags, but the cheaper bag we have from a chain store gets damp by the morning, so I certainly wouldn't want to sleep in it!

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
My 9 year old son has spent several nights in this bag in Northern California, including tent camping in the summer and tarp camping in the late fall. The bag is very versatile and has plenty of room. In the summer with temps in the 60's the bag was fully unzipped and used as a blanket. In the late fall temps got down to around 30 (the stated limit of the bag) and was exposed to light wind...still very warm and comfy.
The only minor improvement would be to make the material more compressible to fit better in a smaller size pack, but for what this bag costs, it really can't be beat.

We have 4 children, ages 5 and under and we tent camp in the summers, mostly in the Northwest. We've been very happy with these bags. They've kept our kids warm and dry, even in the most damp of NW conditions. We own 2 and are purchasing 2 more for our youngest kids. A much better night's sleep than I ever got as a kid in a sleeping bag!

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
I would recommend this bag to anybody that wants a good durable bag for their child. My son has used this bag for over a year with little to no wear and tear. It has held up to what the Appalachian Trail has thrown our way. Did a little fall camping and it dipped into the high/mid 20's and my son was good to go.
It is however kind of bulky even in compression sack. I usually carry it on our backcountry trips.

Web site says it fits up to 60 inches tall but my son is feeling cramped and he is only 55 inches tall.

Comments about REI Kindercone +30 Sleeping Bag - Kids':
I got this for my son a few years ago and wanted to actually have it tested out before I wrote a review. It's a GREAT BAG! He has used it in all seasons but winter.
We stayed in Shenandoah NP last Nov. and it dipped into the 20's and he was just fine. It's a big bag and is a bear to do any backpacking with. I suggest that the people read and look at the "best use" on the description of the bag. It isn't a backpacking bag but can be done.
He's finally growing out of it so I will be looking at getting him a bigger bag. Lasted him the last 3 years.
Bottom line it's a great bag for slumber parties, car camping and dads willing to hump it into the backcountry.
