I live in the cold, foggy, windy area of San Francisco known as the Richmond District. This jacket is perfect for my needs. It's warm, soft, lightweight, comfortable, protects me from cold winds very well, and looks very good (it's fitting yet still comfortable). I have another jacket that is similar (it's a NorthFace soft apex jacket (not the Apex Bionic, which is nicer)); the NF jacket is good-looking (as almost all NF jackets are), lightweight, and windproof but it's not very warm at all! The REI Thermo LT Fleece is warm but not bulky. It's really comfortable. I usually just put it on over a shirt but it's fitting enough to be used as a layer under another jacket (which I do do when it's *really* cold). Perfect. I just wish there were more colors available...

Pro: The fit of this jacket is great. It's incredibly comfortable, looks good, & is very warm for its weight. Seems to be fairly wind resistant.
Con: Major problem is that the fabric used under arms of jacket picks up body odors like crazy. I'm having to wash it just after a few times of washing it and probably should be washing it more often. One of the main reasons that I like fleece jackets is that I don't have to wash them very often. So in that sense, this is a major flaw for me with this jacket. Bummer, because everything else about the jacket is perfect. I'm hoping that maybe REI will change the material under the arms, but keep everything else the same (I bought this jacket in the fall/early winter of 2007).

I used this jacket ever time I hiked this past winter and it was perfect. It is also a great layer under my rain jacket.
I have even worn it casually, as it is perfect for bay area coastal weather.
It is not at wind resistant as I would like, but otherwise perfect.

Awesome jacket for rock climbing. Plenty of stretch and maneuverability in the shoulders and under arms. Perfectly breathable and washes up well. Fits comfortably under both a waterproof shell and down jacket without restriction. I'm very happy with it!
