Comments about REI Thermo LT Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I don't consider this a "jacket" as advertised. It's a really nice full-zip wind-resistant fleece, but it's not a jacket.
I went outside in very slightly breezy 45 degree weather (for only a couple minutes at a time between the car and office buildings/restaurants) the day after buying this and the cold cut right through me as bad as the regular pull-over fleeces that I usually wear. I didn't expect this to perform in sub-freezing temperatures, but it should have been OK in 45F with it's wind-blocking creds.
Compared to regular fleece, the wind resistance is better, but the insulation is lower (probably because of the venting and stretchy arms which allow a lot of air through), so the overall warmth/performance is about the same. It's a compromise between the wind resistance of real wind blocking fleece fabrics with polymer membranes (which don't usually allow moisture to escape quickly enough when you're working hard) and the moisture wicking of regular fleece. I bet it works great on summer hikes or on sweaty trail runs, but so does regular fleece.
Want warmth with moisture wicking? Get a heavier fleece "jacket" (The North Face and Mountain Hard Wear have some options). Want wind blocking? Get an ultralight shell and wear with a regular or heavier fleece (depending on temperature).
Bottom line: at around 2x the cost of regular fleeces and about the same overall performance, it's not worth the cost.

perfect under coat in extreme conditions or by itself for normal Washington days. i plan to wear it under my North Face... caution, when you take it off sometimes the sleeves stretch. remove with care.

Comments about REI Thermo LT Fleece Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is so comfortable. And with the vents in the armpits, it's perfect for me. I don't like to wear a lot of big heavy coats so I love it. I will say though, I'm 6'2" and I wear a large so I'm a little hesitant to wash and dry it for fear of the sleeves shrinking. They're the perfect length now.. Overall, very comfy, soft, and breathable.

Comments about REI Thermo LT Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I bought this fleece to replace an older Columbia fleece before leaving on a 2 week Alaskan Cruise. The primary use was to layer it under my Mountain Hardware Exposure II Parka. I ended up wearing the fleece almost more than the parka as it kept breezes off, had great ventilation under the arms and was very warm.
One of the days we did a 3 hour glacier trek that was very active started out cold. I wore this fleece under a lightweight shell and I couldn't have been happier with the performance. When it got too warm it stowed nicely. It was also great for wearing on the plane during the flight. Great fit and finish and very useful!

Love this light weight fleece jacket. When dressing for a winter morning at home, I reach for this jacket instead of my beloved flannel shirts. It's great for outdoor use on cool days, and it is an excellent warmth layer under a rain shell on cold rainy days.
