Comments about REI San Juan Water Shorts - Men's:
These shorts are well made and comfortable. I use them for whitewater kayaking and backpacking. They are comfortable enough to wear all day.

Comments about REI San Juan Water Shorts - Men's:
For the price (sale price, anyhow) these are a pretty good deal. The are reasonable well constructed and the material is light, but not too flimsy. My biggest concern with them would probably be the buckle on the belt. It's fairly bulky and seems like it will get caught on things or not fit under the waistbelt on my pack without gouging me in the belly! Aside from that, they are comfortable and have ample pockets. The leg pockets with zippers are a great touch, too! These are really basic, but at least worth the sale price (<$12).

Comments about REI San Juan Water Shorts - Men's:
These shorts have what appears to be a fly, but in fact it's a fly-cover but there is no fly opening. This isn't such a big problem, of course, but it's not mentioned in the REI description, nor is it mentioned in the literature that comes with these pants. Since you can "see" a fly opening in the pix, there should be an upfront (so to speak) explanation.
