For your reference, this page contains historical product information.
After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about K2 Easy Street Bike:
I use this bike to ride very rural roads, some paved some not. This is a good bike for casual riding, but not distance, since it's a little heavy, and the big tires are a drag (pun). I originally thought it would be good for gravel roads since that's what's mostly around here, and the tires are very stable on them, but almost too much tire. Since the tires are so big, it's hard to find fenders that cover the tires and clear the tires, so that's a bit of a problem. I took it in to REI for a tune up, and asked them to shorten the pull on the disc brakes. They cleaned it up, but did not touch the brakes, and I didn't double check their work before bringing it home...50 miles away. I would not recommend it to a friend unless that friend would be using it only on paved roads in a dry climate.
