The Phoenix jacket is longer than the Precip. The arms are a bit long, but cuffs are adjustable to keep the rain out. I like the fact that it covers my rear: it makes me dryer and warmer! Huge, adjustable pit zips let you vent, and the material really keeps you dry, even in a torrential shower.
If you need to be warmer, wear this over a fleece or a sweater. A really quality product.

I really like this jacket, but it does not breath very well, so do plan on a little condensation if you are sweeting a lot during your hike. I wore it with a fleece underneath in 20º weather, and it worked great against the rain, but it was really warm.
