The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
A wonderful tool in anyone's climbing arsenal!
I personally am not a fan of loose chalk, so I LOVE having a chalk sock, and this guy is so much better than the nonrefillable options out there.
You can fill it up as much as you want (if you want smaller to roll on your hands, or larger to squeeze, as I do), and refilling it doesn't have to be a mess. Some dust in the air when filling, but c'mon: it's chalk!
It definitely is more gym-friendly than loose chalk, and I use it for outdoor climbing because NO SPILLING!
Bottom line: It does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. It's a sock of chalk. Nothing to debate over buying or not.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
Works as advertised. Used to think it was hard to refill completely until I learned to use a spoon to scoop lots of dust in there first, then jam in a big chunk or two to stretch it out to maximum capacity.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
I bought this chalk sock when I started climbing back in 2001. It's still going strong today. I've washed it a number of times with my normal laundry when it got too dirty. Like previously mentioned, using a spoon makes filling really easy. It helps to fill half way and then smash the chalk down with the spoon. Fill again and repeat.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
This works just the way it should. Easy to open, doesn't interfere with usage. Much easier than prying open that metal ring on the regular ones.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
Good product and the refillable concept works well. However, the included chalk was rock hard and clumped up. I had to dump it all out, grind it back into powder, and then pour it back into the bag. In hind sight I should have just returned it for an exchange.
Aside from the chalk issue, which I believe to be isolated, its a good product.

I am just starting out and Have only been climbing a about 8 times so far. I got this chalk because I like the option to reuse it. So far it has been great.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
I use this for climbing outside, in the gym, and bouldering. I recently lost my bag, and as a result my (this) sock, and my local REI was out of them at the time I went to go replace it. Unfortunately, they were out at the time, so I reverted back to block chalk. While I had started using loose chalk, I switched to the sock and never went back...until I lost my bag. So, after having been forced to switch back to loose from the sock I've realized that this product is pretty great. It coats my fingers/hands well without leaving a bunch of excess. While I think it's sometimes cool to blow excess chalk off my fingers, when I'm bouldering I don't want the chalk spilling everywhere (no bucket like bag for me yet) because someone else in the pit decided to kick it around (okay that someone is usually me).
So, if you're looking to coat your hands/fingers but not leave excess residue on them that would otherwise cake you and your holds, then go for this sock. The size/capacity is great and it functions perfectly.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
This is a great sock, and beats spilling chalk and not getting enough chalk on you hands. A few minor complaints, though. When I first got it, it was so stuffed with chalk that I had to empty it some just to get it to fit in my chalk bag. This is easy to do, in fact, the plastic bag it comes in is a great place to keep it. Also, I am not a huge fan of the chalk that comes with the sock. Overall, a good buy.

Comments about Metolius Refillable Super Chalk Sock:
Simple and easy enough. Being able to refill it (and pick the amount of chalk) is convenient. My only complaint is that it has become a little difficult to get an adequate amount of chalk from it sometimes. I just keep a small amount of loose chalk at the bottom of my chalk bag for when this occurs. Still a great purchase though.
