The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI XR 10 x 32 Waterproof Binoculars:
If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, this little binocular is as good as it gets for a reasonable price! Many of the same specs as the expensive brands.

Comments about REI XR 10 x 32 Waterproof Binoculars:
On paper these binoculars have all the right components. My only real complaint (and the reason I took them back) was the focusing knob turned loosely with slack at the start and finish of focusing resulting in hunting for the sharpest focus. Resistance on the focus knob was not consistent from start to finish. Fix that issue and the binoculars would have been a keeper.

Comments about REI XR 10 x 32 Waterproof Binoculars:
I'm lucky enough to have an REI outlet near my home, so I was able to go in and compare several different binoculars within my price range($50-$150). Although I only made a comparison by looking across the store into areas having different lighting conditions, I found the XR 10X32 to have a brighter and sharper viewing image quality than the other binoculars that I tested. Once I had the new binoculars home, I compared the quality of the viewing image to an older, larger, higher-priced Nikon binoculars that I have (but seldom take anywhere because of it's size and weight). In my opinion, the REI unit has a brighter and sharper viewing image quality than the much larger Nikon binoculars. And I can put these little babies in my coat pocket!

Comments about REI XR 10 x 32 Waterproof Binoculars:
I bought these after comparing a few different models at the REI store. I didn't want to spend a fortune but wanted a decent pair for general wildlife viewing while camping. I didn't see a huge difference in the angle of view or available light vs. the REI 10x25, but a difference none the less, so went with the better pair. We took them camping in Great River Bluffs State Park in MN hoping to catch a view of Bald Eagles, and we did just that. They're compact and light enough to be in my day pack or around my 6 year old's neck with no problem. Overall they seem like a quality set. Prior to leaving I was also able to use them to watch a hummingbird up close out my window and they did very well at ~12 feet. I've looked through better binoculars, but for the price these seem very good. I haven't yet tested the water-proof part and don't plan to on purpose.
