Comments about REI XR 10 x 25 Binoculars:
I bought these binoculars for a cruise in Alaska and initially thought they were a bargain. Nice feel, waterproof and rubberized, good optics, eye cups, etc. Case was a little snug and focusing wheel also a little snug, but generally I liked them.
Unfortunately, the cruise hasn't taken place yet and I am already sending these binoculars back. I was testing them out at home one day and when I pulled off the lens cover on one of the eye cups and the cup came off with the lense cover, leaving just bare metal. It looks like it was glued on and the glue was basically dried out and useless for metal. I started looking at these more and they are made in China as oppose to some of the better binoculars that are made in Japan, Europe. Given these have had very little use and zero rough use, I cannot recommend them.

Comments about REI XR 10 x 25 Binoculars:
bought these binos at the REI store in Nashville and went on a weeklong backpacking, hiking, fly fishing trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and they were great.
It held up great, packed light all week and was durable for the trip.
