Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I've had my REI Power Stretch pullover for a few years, and I completely love it! It's the most versitile piece of cold weather gear I own. It's perfect for the cool, wet conditions in the Pacific NW. It's my go-to top for skiing, hiking, cold weather mountain biking, and for just kicking around town in the winter.
It blocks wind and repels water very well (much better than regular fleece). It offers impressive warmth for the weight & good breathability.
I'm a slim 6'5" and the XL Long fits me perfectly.
The strechiness allows it to move with you and offers a trim, but not tight, fit.
Frankly, I'd pick this over most of the overhyped soft shells on the market.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I am impressed that REI is putting out this level of quality. My application is as a base or 2nd layer under my Burton snowboarding jacket. Although the flat-seam construction is a bit "utilitarian" for casual wear around town, it is the right construction for this type of garment. The blue color is faded and looks cheap, the others are great. The fit on the large was not quite as tight as I needed for a base layer - UNTIL I washed and dried it for 12 minutes in a commercial dryer. Now it's perfect (5'9" 190lbs). It shrinks to about the same degree is Levi's denim. I like the overall fit, the construction, the collar, the weight, the fleece density, the length of the zipper, and the reflective tape along both sides of the zipper. The length, especially of the tail, is very much appreciated. [$]

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
While I didn't purchase this piece this year, it hasn't changed much from last years version. It still wicks moisture better than any other cold weather base layer I've got in my closet. The ability to wash and wear without the need for drying still baffels me.
My only suggestion for improvement is the color choice. The red and blue colors are not my favorite. Darker shades would be more attractive.
Thus, when I get my dividend in February, the first purchase will be a Black Power Stretch top.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I purchased this top for winter hiking and ice climbing. The sleeves are a little on the long side which I like for climbing. The long zip lets you vent excess heat easily. The fabric is SUPER soft and ultra comfortable. I went on-line to purchase a second one but they are sold out in my size. Also a great top for to wear to the pub afterwards.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
My husband lives in this thing. He bought it a few weeks ago and wears it lounging, mountain biking, walking, you name it. I finally convinced him to take it off when he bought another one.
He's tall and skinny (6'2", 185), purchased the large and this is one of the few articles of clothing that fits him right in the torso and sleeves. There's still plenty of room if he wanted to wear a base layer underneath also. He loves the fleece inside for the warmth but how it's smooth on the outside. We've found fleece on the outside gets so nittyfied with lint, hair, everything sticks on it. I personally like the style of the men's better than the women's version, which I now own.

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
This is primarily my winter jogging shirt of choice. Depending on the temperature and wind I'll layer somewhat, but you could certainly wear this on it's own down into the 20's if you're keeping active. My only gripe is that it's not windproof at all. I'm not expecting it to perform like a shell...but sometimes even the wind from running (and trust me, I don't run fast) is enough to feel through the shirt.
All in all this is very warm and is great at moisture control. I like the addition of the ipod pocket so I don't have to use my arm strap like in the summer. Good job REI.
PS - The matching pants are just as good...but like I said...if there's any wind you'll need a shell over top of them.

This top is great! It's warm, comfortable, wind resistant, and soft. It is also a great addition to my layering arsenal. I would give it 5 starts if it wasn't for the long sleeves. This will be the first thing I'll grab for any cold weather outdoor activity.

I've been using this for cold weather cycling and casual wear. It keeps you warm and wicks. I really like the ipod pocket. Normally I won't listen and ride, but this shirt makes it too inviting. The ipod and headphones stay in place and I can easily advance a song. Music on a rail trail rides makes it more fun. I will buy another of these - especially since they are on sale now

Comments about REI Power Stretch Half-Zip Top - Men's:
I love this pullover. The first thing I noticed is the size-- I'm 6'3" and skinny, so I'm used to having a choice between having my wrists stick out or buying a size up and feeling like I'm wearing a potato sack. However, I bought this in size L and the arms and tail are both adequately long. The material is incredibly comfortable, breathable, stretchy, and surprisingly warm.
The cons: I really dislike the dorky little reflective decal on the chest pocket to advertise that it has a port for a headphone cord. I've been chipping away at this for the last few days with a razor but still can;t quite get it off. Also, while the gusseted armpits provide for plenty of movement, about an inch or so of stitching at the armpit has come apart.
