Comments about Keen Salem Boots - Women's:
I tried the KEEN Salem boots on in my size and they fit good. The elastic/ankle portion of the boot was tight but I liked it at first. After a few wears they wore skin away all around my ankles. I'm not a thin person. Over time the shoes have worn in more- no more pain. These have very comfortable soles!! Even still, I LOVE THESE BOOTS!

Comments about Keen Salem Boots - Women's:
I love the great fit and comfort of these boots. This is the 4th pair of Keen I own. However, the boots DO get wet in extremely wet conditions (rain, slush). I also noticed that they do show "wear" more easily than my previous pairs. Also, these shoes are bit hard to get in and out of because of the high and tight ankle part.

I love these boots, I have four pairs of Keens and love every pair. I feel like a salesperson when I talk about them... I should ask for commission!! Overall good boot, sturdy, warm and very comfy. I am on my feet all day and I have no problem with them. Definately try them on in the store since the sizing can be a little off.

Comments about Keen Salem Boots - Women's:
This is my first pair of Keen shoes and I was initially very impressed--much lighter than I thought they'd be and they are extremely comfortable.
I've only owned these for 3 weeks and unfortunately, both rear pull tags have come out of the stitching and the seam is coming apart on one shoe on the leather/elastic seam. Quite a disappointment since I haven't overworked them yet.

I love Keens! I own five pairs. These, however, are a little too side. They slip at the heels and rub a bit. For wintery weather (which is why I bought them) with thick socks they're great.

Comments about Keen Salem Boots - Women's:
When I bought my Keen boots almost 3 years ago, I thought my use of them would be limited to the fall weather in Montana. I'm a walker, and I found them so comfortable that I kept on wearing them, with warmer socks, through the winter. They are as warm and as grippy as any snow boots I've had, without being heavy or clunky (although they do look chunky, they are light and agile.) Plus, I found I could wear them with pants at my job as librarian - standing in them for a good part of the day without undue strain on my legs and feet. This was great, as I didn't have to bring an extra pair of shoes to work after I walked there in my boots.
After winter, I wore them through the wet spring weather. By this time I had a couple stains on them. I added a waterproofer, and that slightly darkened the leather and the stains blended right in.
I'm now buying my second pair of Salem boots, in black this time. My old brown ones are not worn by any means, but I use them so much I want both colors. If they came in any other colors, I'd buy them in a flash. Blue, I'd like blue!
While they're not for everyone due to their odd look, if you want functionality, comfort, and versatility, these might be the shoes for you.

I love these - they are easy to take on and off. Great with skirts. I feel like I'm bouncing when I wear them. Great for muddy walks, errands, cold weather, etc.

I have wanted these shoes for a while and the Keen advice suggests ordering all Keens a 1/2 size higher than you normally wear. I feel like I am sloshing around in these things though. They are comfortable and I am certain I will like them as winter comes, but I am not as excited about them as I hoped.
They are also really bulky and unfeminine--maybe this is a non-issue for others.
One plus is that I think they will do well for me as a bike or walk commuter. They can go from being functional to work appropriate.

When you don't want to mess with ten-eyelet lacings in a casual boot, look no further. Just pull 'em on over your favorite REI sox (yours truly favors the merino wool midweights). Minimal to no break-in required. AND as mentioned above, they're shaped according to the design of the human foot, wide in the toe box and narrower in the heel, none of this squashed pointy-toe foolishness. Comfy!! and cute.

took them out of the box and wore them on a plane to Turkey. walked daily up and down streets of Istanbul in cold, wet, rainy weather. feet were comfortable and warm and i never felt like i would slip on wet surfaces. then wore in the snow and slushy weather of the mid-west. stepped in a large puddle of slush- feet stayed warm and dry. had good grip even on icy sidewalks and parking lots. a real lifesaver!! great looks and the style gives you a nice close top to keep snow and rain out while ease of putting on is not compromised!! seriously love this boot.
