So much snow you wish you had a snorkel? Don't even think about grabbing those skinny skis—you need the super-fat K2 Pontoons to stay afloat!

  • To heck with camber!—K2 developed a surf-inspired rocker to give the Pontoons a bowed up tip and tail, letting you float in the deepest pow
  • Powder-specific sidecut tapers from a massive 160mm in the tip to 130mm in the waist and 120mm in the tail—now that's fat!
  • A touch of standard sidecut underfoot gives you control and stability to navigate your way back to the trailhead, heli, cat or lift
  • Fir/aspen core produces a natural flex, allowing the ski to achieve full contact with the snow throughout the turn
  • Torsion Box design utilizes a Triaxial-braided wood core to create a high degree of rebound and performance
  • Triaxial braiding wraps an interlocking fiberglass weave around the wood core providing torsional stiffness
  • Asymmetric graphics line up to inspire flight while you pilot these big boys down the mountain
  • Stick to the powder when you can—the Pontoons prefer 99% ungroomed and 1% groomed
  • Requires bindings with wide brakes

    Comments about K2 Pontoon Skis:

    Much has been said about the Pontoon. It's innovative design is unbelievable in deep snow! the rocker in the tips and tails, and the really wide shovel mean that this ski never, ever, dives in powder. Used this ski in a variety of snow conditions last season. Generally these skis are best when the snow is deeper than 6", and that you are sure you will be catching freshies all day. any traverse into or out of a pow stash is going to be a chore, as this ski has no sidecut (a little underfoot doesn't help much at all). but the soft flex, rocker design, and monster dimensions deliver in pure powder. avoid hardpack at all costs! but the pontoon is truly effortless, a soft snow revelation. ultimately i went with the k2 hellbents as they proved to be a little more versatile in variable and cut-up snow that develops during resort conditions.
