If they don't do well at 22° F...
This seems like the ideal glove. Nice, tight fit, well constructed. The gloves extend well back beyond my wrist to prevent air from going up my coat. So far, so good. Alas, these gloves only seem to keep my hands warm when I'm standing still. I bike commute to work year-round, and with the benefit of the sun on a 22° morning, my hands were cold until about 2/3rds of the way to work (mile 6 of 10). Without the benefit of the sun on the way home, the gloves were completely hopeless until I almost got home, even though it was about 28° F. Even with the benefit of a mild Chicago winter so far, I can't see myself wearing these below 20° F, and given that I've done -13° F commutes... I'll have to find another pair.
Stylish gloves that don't work
These are the second pair of Seirus gloves I purchased from REI and will be the second pair to be returned. For the price they are completely useless in terms of keeping your hands warm. In fact, I almost feel like my hands would be warmer if I didn't wear any gloves. Seirus needs to do some serious research in how to make good gloves that are functional. The only thing I like about these gloves is the look and fit. I like to wear gloves that are not too bulky, yet are solid. Unfortunately these gloves are everything I want except for providing warmth. These are going back to REI.
Use your pockets instead
The worst performing gloves I've ever owned. They provide no warmth, which renders them useless for any winter outdoor activity, with the possible exception of driving. If they get wet they are even worse. Hands get soaked immediately and what little thermal protection they may have provided when dry goes out the window. In fact, your hands will be colder with then on then off. They offer no wind protection whatsoever so they unsuited for cycling, snowshoeing or shoveling. Why they remain on the market is a mystery.
Frankly, a ripoff...
When I tried these in the store I thought I had found the perfect gloves. Finally a kind of nylon/neoprene-like stretch fabric, snug fit, and billed as weatherproof/waterproof. First use, these things leaked like a sieve and then soaked up water like a sponge leading to seriously cold, uncomfortable hands, and no doubt dangerous in extreme conditions. These gloves were a complete waste of money and manufacturer is arguably criminal in their claim to water resistance at any level. My wife bought a pair at the same time and has worse things to say about them than I do.
Poor design
I am fortunate in that my hand have the shape and size that fits most men's gloves snuggly. This glove however has the shape of a mutant. Its narrow and long. I can snuggly with the gloves on, but then the fingers are way tooooo long. Over one centimeter longer then my fingers. So I try the on one size smaller, now I cannt get the glove on at all. I imagine the obtained to size and shape of these gloves from freakish mutant human. So far my search for a minimally insulated, form fitting, softshell, waterproof gloves have yielded only negative results. Poor design and poor manufacturing. I am so desparate I might take these gloves to my tailor to have them form fitted and seam sealed.
Not even remotely waterproof, & Not warm
Believe the majority of reviews here. For how thick these gloves are not very warm at all, and water leaks through them instantly. Spend some time handling a lot of snow, and they get soaked as well. Much thinner Polartec glove liners are warmer than these. They also don't breath very well, and your hands will get quite clammy in them. The palm and index finger grips are quite good though.
Couldn't handle 30 degrees F
THis is a sad excuse for a glove. I currently live in Michigan, today it was 30 degrees F in the day time. I put on my gloves, w/n 10 minutes my hands felt like popsicles. And yes I did put my gloves on as soon as I got outside. My hands should not get cold in these gloves, based on the price, brand and "supposed" quality. I would expect this out of 99 cents gloves but not the "great" seirus... I am very disappointed to say the least.
Great gloves so far
I can't say that I tested them completely because I got them recently so there was not much chance to try them in cold conditions but I was interested if they are waterproof as claimed by the manufacturer. I guess I was a lucky one compared to the other buyers whose gloves absorbed water when tested. I immersed mine in sink full of water for six minutes and not a drop went inside. I guess one must go on and check few pairs to buy the right one and I got lucky with the first pair. I must wait until winter to test their thermal ability.
Hate to pile on, but....
I put these gloves on on my way out of the store and they kept my hands completely warm in low 30 degree temps with plenty of wind. I usually read reviews before I buy something like this, but this time it escaped me for some reason. Anyhow, I happened to read several reviews the night I bought them and I was shocked. I filled a sink with cold water and submerged my hand to the wrist. Bubbles instantly shot out of the seams/stitches in multiple areas and I could feel water on my skin. The glove was pretty much soaked throughout the inside making them useless in my opinion. They are getting returned ASAP. I do like the way they look, feel and fit. They are just too expensive to not perform as advertised.
To each, his own
I love having dexterity in my gloves so I thought there had to be an alternative to the typical bulky gloves everyone has - that are still warm and waterproof. I found these, my answer. I haven't had the problems others have had. My only con is pulling off the gloves can pull the liner from the fingers and putting the gloves back on with even semi wet hands can be really frustrating trying to get them back in easily. Now I just make sure I grab each finger to make sure I keep the liner in the right place.
