Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
-Gloves are great down to 40F, 35F if its sunny or not too windy. For colder, I where snowboarding glove shell, and for really cold I wear these AND the shell over them.
-The high wrists are great for stopping wind getting up your sleeves, and the padding makes clutching the handlebars and breaks a breeze.
-Consider these a fall and spring glove.

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
These are great when you are standing still, but any speed above 15mph lets wind through and freezes your hands. Also, the wrist cuffs are too tight and the material make my wrists sweaty, then making the glove wet and even colder. I didn't have a problem putting them on when my hands were sweaty, but I never tried them in the rain. Note to marketing: don't name a product "Headwind" if wind is it's weakness. Try Descente Wombats for better wind/water resistance.

Used for a half-hour ride home @ 22 degrees. They kept it pretty comfortable except for a little numbness in my index fingertips but not all that bad, considering the temps.

Bought these for my commute in Northern VA. Rode for the first time in the mid-30's. Cold at first but my hand warmed up. Wind came through a little which kept my hands from overheating. I think if it gets much colder I will have to have a heavier glove.

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
These gloves are, admittedly, not for arctic explorers but they do offer very nice protection when fingerless isn't an option. I live in a fairly temperate climate, and I don't even ride when it's as cold as some of the other reviewers are trying these gloves out, but I found that in my 40F-50F climate, even when it's foggy and windy, these gloves keep my hands very warm. They also fit VERY nicely under my snowboard glove shells to create a glove that is basically impervious to the elements. Padding is nice, well thought out design with the suede finger tips for gripping the shifters and the brake. I often find my hands sweating by the time I arrive. They're pretty snug, by the way, so if you're on the border (size wise) get the bigger size.

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
At temps below 40 these gloves are like wearing fingerless cotton gloves .... fingers are frozen within a few minutes at moderate speeds .... if you ride in any temp below 40 these gloves are not what you need

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
I bought these gloves because I liked the headwind pants so much, but after just a couple of miles in 35-38 degree temps my hands were freezing. Although they seemed like very nice gloves they just did not keep my hands warm.

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
I got a new job that moves my commute from 2.4 miles (one way) to 10 miles so I bought a cart full of cold weather gear for my road bike. These gloves were one of my purchases.
I tested the gloves today with 29 degree F weather (10-15mph winds) and the gloves failed horribly. As long as I was biking with the wind they were warm but as soon as I headed into the wind, all warmth fled and the wind cut right through. By the end of my ride (35min total) my hands were warm enough due to sheer body heat but the first 20 minutes were numbing and somewhat painful.
Fortunately the gloves have some padding, which is why I bought them over other warmer looking gloves. Most other winter gloves have no padding unlike summer fingerless gloves that are designed to cushion your hands.
So overall the gloves may be good for weather that is a bit more moderate, possibly 50 degrees F or more. If you are a 4 season commuter in a winter climate, these are not the gloves for you.

Comments about Novara Headwind Gloves - Men's:
I bought these for an all day MTB event. I tried them on in the store and they seemed comfy but when I put them on at the event and my hands were a bit damp from the rain it was difficult to get my fingers into the inner-lining and the glove fingers at the same time making it a cumbersome chore to work my fingers comfortably into the glove. After about a half hour of riding I was able to gradually feel like my fingers were all the way in the fingers. Who knows what will happen after I wash them? Great for warmer weather, when you won't need to wear them. Back to the store they go after they are dry.
