    My dog bit through this leash in one chomp! There is nothing running through the center to reinforce the weak fabric. When I took it back to the REI where I'd purchased it, the clerk tried to make me feel bad for returning a product that my dog had ruined! I love REI products because they are usually so durable. I'd never felt so sure of the inadequacy of a product in my life! My dog could have been seriously injured had I not been able to grab him right away.

      I'm surprised by the negative comments about this leash. We've owned it now (in blue) for almost a year and it's a great leash. Not quite as good as the 30 year old leather leash we have, but still far better than most typical leashes we've tried. The length is good, but it could be a touch longer. I prefer a longer leash and I've never been able to find one as long as that 30 year old leather leash I referenced above. I like the little plastic clip, though I have not come up with a use for it yet. It is comfortable to hold, light weight, and I've never had a problem with it stretching or any other problem due to our dog pulling on it. I feel it is quite durable and expect to keep it many years.

      This leash is very weak! I never let my dog go near the leash unless it is attached and with small nips here and there the leash looks like a litter of pups has been chewing on it for a month. The leash falls apart really quick and it is not worth the money. You are better off looking in the outlet section and getting a clearance leash thats better quality.

          This leash (as well as the matching collar) are made of a stretchy material that has too much give for a dog that likes to walk fast and may pull a bit. I always feel like it might stretch all the way out.

            Standard length and comfortable wrist loop. The best thing about this leash is how thin and light weight it is. Washes easily, dries quickly. We bought both colors because we like them so much. One con, the plastic buckle on the wrist end, used to make the whole leash a "loop" when not on the dog, broke pretty quickly. No big deal, though. You can just hook the metal part to the webbing loop and throw it over your shoulder.
