Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
This light was not expensive and easy to install. More importantly the strob light is extremely bright and even has a setting for use as a continous red light.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
I very much like this light for its brightness and the flash pattern. However I am disappointed with the weatherproofing. The rubber gasket does not seal the light sufficiently. After a few days of use for my daily commute on wet roads water and road salt picked up by the tires work their way into the light and it stops working. Sometimes a thorough drying solves the problem but not always. I am now on my 3rd in as many years. The sales person at my Boston REI told me that 1 year of daily use from a bike light was reasonable. I am not sure I agree. I will try sealing this one with tape before installing.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
The good: this thing is bright and an attention-getter. I haven't had any issues with it (that weren't my own fault, like damaging mounting hardware) until this week when it rained three days straight. I knew I was in trouble when a friend I was riding with asked why I didn't have a rear light. "No worries," I thought as I reached for my backup. The backup failed on day 2, also because water got inside. So, if you get this light, watch for issues in the rain.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
Pros: simple light with a lot of different riding/ mounting options. I like how you can easily remove the light from the mount and take it with you. The light is very easy to operate, only one button. It seems pretty jiggle proof as I have gone over quite a few bumps with no problems.
Cons: When I first got the light I thought it was not very bright, I got it in the middle of the day. After riding it at night my thoughts have changed a little bit, but I'm still not blown away with how bright it is. The main mounting system is good and solid but I found myself fiddling with it to try to get the light centered, because as you wrench the mount down the angle of the light can shift a little bit.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
This light is SUPER SUPER bright. So bright that you can use it as a red flashlight if you want. Cars will definitely notice you. I wouldn't want to be another cyclist ridding behind this light if it were in strobe mode - it's blinding. Anyway, it looks pretty sturdy, has a unique color combination, operates in strobe and constant mode, comes with sturdy seat stay and seat post brackets, and can also be belt clipped onto something. I'm glad I made this choice and would recommend it to anyone.
I tried out the "Turbo" model in the store as well, and while it's brighter on paper, it was really hard to tell a difference in the real world. It did seem to flash a little quicker, but for the money I'm happy with the standard Super Flash.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
This is the BEST tail light i've ever used in 20yrs of biking. It's also the best i've ever seen. There may be brighter external battery lights, but this one is so bright, i don't think it matters. The flashing mode is very attention getting and very bright. The battery life has been excellent. I've never had the experience of this light's seat mounting bracket coming loose as one person described. For me, it's stayed in position at all times (with proper tension) and never come off (even over very bumpy roads). The seatpost mount was a little too big for my smallish post - inserting a little extra rubber under the bracket has worked fine. I'd be nice if it came with the rack mounting bracket or if those were easy to find in stores (i've ordered one since i learned about it).
In a downpour, this light did seem to get a little water in it - note that it was mounted on my rack (with a homemade mount) out in the rain, not under the seat. It started acting buggy. I took out the batteries and let it dry for a day or so. It's been working fine for over a year since. It has worked fine in light to medium rain.
It seems a testament to this light's excellence that they've become virtually ubiquitous (at least in the sf bay area).
I've used this light for about 2yrs/7000km.

Great purchase. Outstanding visibility. Long battery life (once the original battery cheaply made are replaced). Somewhat tricky to turn it on, might be a trade off for waterproof design.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
As a daily bike commuter and roadie, I've found this product to fit all my needs regarding proper visability, lighting during the winter time.
The light attachments are error free, we just need to make sure that the light slips into the bracket until we hear a "click" that indicates that it's locked in there.
In regards to the rain, I think it's also important that the cover is placed back correctly, so that the rubber seal protects the inside compartment.
As far as the button being difficult to push, try depressing the button for about 5 seconds to turn it on or off.
Overrall, the rear bike light is perfect and great for road safety.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
Extremely bright for a small light. Easy to mount on bike.
I've had 4 of them now. Three existing on my different bikes, (one lost somewhere when my son crashed my mountain bike and didn't notice the light was gone). For me, one jumped off when I hit a bump descending at about 35 MPH. Went back and got it, still shining. Another time riding on the coast, hit a bump, heard it fall. Went back and got it. Put the pieces back together and it worked fine again. Since then, I mount it on the bike, and use a piece of electrical tape to fasten it to the bracket. Easy to remove if needed
Buy the light, adapt the bracket.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash Rear Bike Light:
What's the deal with their switches? I pedaled in one rainstorm and the light went haywire. Now it seems to have a mind of its own, selectively choosing which mode it wants to operate in, and most disconcerting is that it will choose to turn itself off!!!! I thought I was the only one with this issues, but apparently it is pretty common.
I also don't like how narrow the beam focuses, I don't feel that all the cars can see me - particularly if they come from the side or at an angle. I ride too much not to value my safety and a taillight is KEY!!!! I'd spend whatever it takes to get a good taillight, but this is NOT the one for me.
