Comments about Arc'Teryx Beta AR Pants - Men's:
These pants are extremely durable and hearty considering how lightweight they are.
Wonderful hard shell pants for skiing, snowboarding, climbing, etc. You WILL stay dry.
For hiking and trekking, a less professional, more lightweight rain pant is probably a better option. For alpine climbers dealing with dry, powder snow, a soft shell pant is probably a better option.
But if you're looking for the ultimate waterproof pant that can do anything, this is it.

Comments about Arc'Teryx Beta AR Pants - Men's:
These pants are as advertised. They perform very well in wet icy situations (i.e. ice climbing). [They also worked well in snowy conditions, but you should wear some gaiters despite the snow skirts.] I have successfully used these pants to hike and climb a couple of 14'ers here the Colorado Rockies. For insulation layer for these pants, I suggest Ar’cteryx Tau pants.

Comments about Arc'Teryx Beta AR Pants - Men's:
These pants truly do it all. Whether floating the Rio Grande in a canoe on a rainy day, sluging through the thick wet forests of Northern Wisconsin, or snowshowing in the mountains of Colorado, these pants have kept me comfortable and dry. They will keep you dry even when the rain doesn's stop for five days straight in the Boundary Waters.
The price is certainly steep, but you are getting what you pay for and after 4 years of use they are still in great shape. As long as you take good care of them (they come with good care instruction and Arc'Teryx.com will give you any more you need) they will take great care of you for many years and every situation.

Comments about Arc'Teryx Beta AR Pants - Men's:
I work outside daily, year 'round.
i work on the sides of roads with cars slinging muck going 55 in a 40 (slow down in construction zones please!!)
i bought these pants for the slush season; and they are so thoughtfully designed, the extras really separate these from the Paclite pants i had previously, worth every penny.
the inner Gaitors are excellent when the winds are high from passing trucks.
i have never gotten any leaks in them ... through the zippers or fly, anywhere.
oh PS i have used them camping and they work great, however they do weight a LOT... but for me the increase in quality is worth the ounces, i use a goreTex Paclite jacket and these pants.
worth every cent and a must buy
