    Yakima Mako kayak saddles are custom-designed with form-fitting cradles to fit all popular boat chine shapes.

    • Mako Saddles fit directly onto round and square crossbars; fits most factory racks—just add Yakima MightyMounts (sold separately)
    • Pad is recessed so that boats slide easily over the saddle when loaded
    • When strap is tightened, raised pads of soft Dynaflex material securely grip the boat hull
    • Strap design features a quick-release anchor, allowing strap to be easily removed when not in use
    • Soft pad around the Ancra™ buckle protects the vehicle and boat from scratches
    • Stainless-steel hardware lasts as long as a love for the water

            I use a pair of these saddles along with a pair of Yakima HullyRollers, all mounted on round Yakima bars. The saddles are easy to use and easy to install, and hold my kayak secure. I watched my boat closely at 70 mph highway speeds. It doesn't move around at all. (I'll submit a separate review on the HullyRollers - a good product, but with one significant drawback.)

            Very good piece of equipment. Like I said It's very easy to use and pairs nicely with the Hully rollers. There are two straps to hold the boat on. One strap would make me feel more comfortable. Love the product and have since purchased three sets for my cars.

              I've used the saddles with a number of different kayaks (14' to 18') and both Yakima and Thule racks. They install quickly and handle freeway speeds securely.
