The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
I was surprised at how lightweight the gorillapod was once I got it out of the package. That's a good thing because it makes it super easy to travel with.
Unlike the regular gorillapod the zoom doesn't come with a moveable head. So you are kind of stuck with horizontal format unless you get a tripod head. But I was able to tweak it to get some vert pics. I knew the shortcoming before I bought so I wasn't disappointed. If I hadn't known that I would have been very disappointed. I don't think they explain that need well enough in the description.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
Nice product. Can take fun pictures with this!! Works pretty good. Have only had a few issues where it moved a little once I positioned it. It didn't move much. Overall, I'm really happy with this. Now I don't have to stop people on the sidewalk to take pictures of us. : )

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
This tripod is great in that it folds up small, is light weight and very portable. However, I highly recommend using a tripod head with this product. You can either buy the ball head separately or with the gorillapod, or use your own tripod head. Trying to get the camera level while wrapped around a tree or light post is extremely difficult without a head! The joints are very stiff (which is a good thing) but it takes some work to get it set up so that it's sturdy and you feel confident walking away from your camera. Overall, great idea and will be great for hiking.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
instead of carrying big heavy tripod around, this one is well worth it!!! I call this my little spidy, able to hold $2600 worth of camera gear (Canon 7D w/grip, 17-40L) this little tripod can go anywhere you like. At first i was afraid it wouldn't hold up the weight of the camera but it actually did... It did take time to get use to it and to adjust the footing to get the right angle, but indeed its well worth it!! its small and light, that i'm able to clip it around my bag and carry it around, instead of using my other shoulder to lunged around heavy tripods. Over all i would recommend this to anyone that travel...

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
I've been wanting one of these for some time since I often ride my mountain bike alone and like to get photos to post to forums and Facebook. I carry a little tripod that has tiny legs that fold up and screw inside the barrel. That works OK for a point and shoot but not for the Nikon D-2 and D-300 I carry. This pod is strong enough to hold up the DSLR with a 17-55 zoom mounted to it. A big plus is the ability to wrap the legs around a tree for vertical shots. The ball head would be nice but I got along just fine without it. The legs are infinitly adjustable so you can always get it level. When I take this on the bike I just wrap the legs around the handlebars and it doesn't rattle or move. Get one! But don't go for the lighter weight one, this one is so light you hardly notice it and it's way more useful.

Right out of the box I tried to adjust the legs and one of them broke off. I don't know if it was a lemon or this is just poor craftsmanship. I would not recommend this to anyone with an slr.

Comments about Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom:
I really like the Joby and the way you can use it for the camera and the video camera. It seems to be really stable when I tried it using the video camera in the house. I can't wait to use it outdoors.
