Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
We were very excited to see the description of this product, especially with a high rating by other REI members; however, we were very disappointed with what arrived and the very poor customer service at BABY JOGGER.1. Packaging: Huge gouge in box and all parts seemed to have been rewrapped (like it was returned then the rewrapped it).2. Parts: we were missing the part that connects to the bike (the hitch).3. The clear vinyl screen had a permanent "etching" on it from the poorly placed instructional sheet that lays up against it when shipped from the manufacturer. (this etching could not be washed off...the vinyl is no longer perfectly clear due to this (baby would have a distorted view).4. CUSTOMER SERVICE: THEY WERE HORRIBLE! They said it's REI's problem...and didn't even want to deal with it. (Even though there's a card that came with it saying "At Baby Jogger We'll Take Care Of You!" And it says "PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE PLACE OF PURCHASE FOR PARTS OR WARRANTY ISSUES".5. Unfortunately, it's also slightly too big to fit through a standard doorway. (reducing width by about 1" would have been great).6. ...It was harder to close/fold & store then they make it look. (But wheels were cool...they were easy to remove).[...]

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
This trailer comes so close to perfection. My only complaint is that it is too wide for standard doorways. If it could have the versatility to go everywhere, we would have a winner. My very tall 4 1/2 year old has plenty of head and leg room, and room for growth. We are able to bike as a family on longer trips due to their comfort. I highly recommend this. It just needs to be a slight bit thinner to fit through standard doorways.

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
So, we bought this thinking - great, because for now it will be a great trailer for our one kid, and when number two comes we have a jogger AND a trailer. The ride is fine and the major mechanical aspects of it are not problematic. [...]. We're taking it back because of five little things that don't work. The zipper pull broke on the first use - kind of important when needed every use.The forks for the jogger wheel don't stay in place on even a slightly bumpy bike tow.The shoulder strap cushions fall off when putting it on our son.One of the reflectors will not attach to the wheel. The V-brakes didn't come adjusted to work, and while we can do that, it was one of those annoyances we didn't need to deal with. Other problems - there is no where to store the wheel for the jogger when not in use.[...]. We do have a baby jogger brand jogging stroller and it is fine, but we're probably going to get a slightly nicer trailer because this one is just annoying enough that we don't want to deal with it.

I have 3 daughters who are runners and mothers. They have all used this product at one time or another and are still passing it around. It has enabled them to continue their fitness routines while toting their children.

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
The highlight of the Switchback is that it is so incredibly easy to change between Bike Trailer and Jogger Stroller. I can do it myself in minutes with no tools. Also, everything you need is included, no need to buy extra accessories for this one. It is roomy and comfortable for my 2 and 3 year old children with a few books and toys to keep them occupied. There isn't extra storage for our gear though. I attach a bag to the handle bar but we couldn't take this stroller to the grocery store without piling bags on the kids laps. The big wheels make it very easy to push and jog with, both on pavement and on more rugged trails. It folds up compactly with just a tug of the straps. I usually use it in jogger stroller mode, but I think it is equally as great as a bike trailer. I love this product and highly recommend it, but more importantly my kids love it too!

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
Pros: Smooth ride. The product feels like quality. Keeps bugs outside and toys inside. Really roomy and comfortable seating for my bubs. Only major Con: very bulky. Expect it to take up most, if not all, your boot space. It also has a poor turning ability, but that's to be expected from a fixed front wheel. Overall, this stroller will last until my kids are at least 4 or 5 years. I am very pleased with the stroller.

I really like this product. It was easy to assemble and is great for jogging and cycling. That being said I have had a couple issues with it. A zipper pull came off and the adjustable handle bar has slipped since I bought it, almost a year ago. However, when I took in into REI with these problems, they ordered me a new one on the spot.[...] Even though I had these small issues, I would recommend to a friend.

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
After hemming and hawing about the price, we went for the Switchback and are very happy with the choice. This is not the lightest bike trailer around but it makes up for it in convenience. After unpackaging from the box I had it attached to a bike in all of 15 minutes. It can be switched from bike to bike in under 5 minutes with no tools (provided you have a quick-release rear wheel) which is great when switching from my bike to my wife's. The wheels are on/off very easily (push of a button) and it stows smaller with them off. It does indeed collapes with a quick yank on the handles [I have not yet experienced the lack of locking issue described in another review]. You can get this trailer from your trunk and attached to your bike (or reverse) in under two minutes with just about no practice.
We don't run much, but we have used the Switchback as a stroller. The front wheel is somewhat tricky to put on the first time, but after that it's obvious and easier. The brake however is a bit more difficult- in fact, we've not used it because it seems every time I put the wheel on, the brake pads need re-alignment. As we aren't runners we haven't had a need for it, so not a huge problem (there is a safety strap attached to the handle bar with a wrist loop for added security). But again, it's heavy and I would think serious runners would look elsewhere.
I've seen the doorway comment- yes, it's true, this is not a stroller you should take shopping. But obviously it wasn't designed for that :)
Overall- great purchase and we hope to get a lot more use out of it.

Comments about Baby Jogger Switchback Stroller / Trailer - Double:
I am replacing a Chariot Cougar Single with this Switchback Hybrid double. I like the integration with the forks and arm for the attachments easily stowed. But, the front wheel, while it fits in the pocket, will not allow the unit to fold very well. The Chariot has velcro for stowing the frond wheel outside the pocket which would work better on this device, so Baby Jogger should consider a similar implementation.
The unit sets up and folds very easily. The downside is that with both rear wheels on, I have trouble fitting through doors and my gate, but this is the price I pay for having 2 kids.
The construcktion is very robust, but I have a couple of times where I think I open and lock it and then one of the sides collapses, this after I pushed on it to ensure it locked. TBD on this because after I push it harder, no problems with collapsing again. So I recommend pushing down on the back handle to check before you take off, especially in bike mode where you cannot check. The Chariot lock was very certain, thus, Baby Jogger should put some kind of indicator that lets us know it is locked.
The unit is heavy, but okay for me because I am using it for workout anyway and I count heavy as resistance.
I have a 6 month old and 3 year old and I used the infant carrier add-on that I bought for my Chariot in this model for my 6 month old and it works (only for jogging mode of course). It goes in taute when the unit is upright and then with the quick fold, it just folds in half with the unit. I had to use some extra straps on the lower anchors to lengthen the reach, but you can pick these up from REI.
With the unit folded, it gets very compact, wide, but compact, so this is a plus for transit with the unit as it can fit in my car trunk or in my SUV rear area with ease.
