Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
The lack of water resistance is disconcerting, especially since Gerber choose to include an o-ring. The tailcap doubles as the on/off switch, so when the light is off, the tailcap is slightly loose and water can creep in.
The specs for battery life shown online (11 hrs) are different than what is shown on the packaging (3.5 hrs). I'm more likely to believe the packaging, but one can't see that until you physically have it.
I really like the fact that a standard AAA battery is used. These can be found in many places, and since AAA batteries inevitably come in packs of 4 and my headlamp uses 3 AAA batteries, I now have a place to use the fourth AAA battery.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
I bought this flashlight several months before a scheduled camping trip and carried it on my key chain as a back-up light at work to test its reliability. I used it several times and was very happy with its light output and convenient size. After a week or so, the beam failed to remain constant and would only turn on when operated “just right”. The flashlight stopped working completely after 3 weeks of occasional use. If you buy this product, keep your receipt, you’ll need it for the return.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
Great little light, does not use much juice, but is reasonably bright. Use like a swiss army knife, almost every day, office, home, away. Great for looking behind computer equipment, etc, to hook things up.
Was not sure about how waterproof it was. Went through the entire wash, rinse and spin cycle plus drying, and still works.
I carry it every day in my pocket, whether jeans or a suit, it is no bigger than chapstick.
I have bought another to keep as a spare as I occasionally mis place it, like in the washing machine.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
Great little flashlight; brighter than i expected for size/LED. Had been using a little halogen flashlight (PrincetonTec Blast), but bulb kept burning out frequently (at [$] a bulb); decided to move on to a rugged LED light, even though they aren’t as bright. Surprisingly, the Tempo is sufficiently bright for many uses, and i don’t find myself missing the Blast at all. And the Tempo’s slimmer profile makes it much easier to tote.I was worried about battery life, given the Tempo uses a single AAA cell, but this has not been a problem at all. Although i use it every night, i only charge the eneloop NiMH cell i use in it once every 6-8 weeks. I charge it before it goes dim, so could definitely get more life out of a cell than i do. Many other lights this size only use disposable cells, so the Tempo is more environmentally friendly (if you use rechargeables). This flashlight is small and lightweight enough that you can carry it with you everywhere and anywhere. At the price, it is a great bargain.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
I haven't put this little gem through its paces yet, but it seems to be well built, and throws a nice light for a single AAA light. Looks real nice, feels of quality, and is lightweight. I wouldn't necessarily use this in place of a more serious flashlight on an overnight or longer outing, but it seems perfect for light-duty use when you need to travel light.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
Purchased four of these lights last summer. Ended up returning all four. Lights proved not to be very dependable - didn't always turn on when I wanted them to - even with new flashlights. Tired of being disappointed so returned them all [...]

This is a great little light to have on you, it is light weight and very bright. small enought to hold in your mouth when you got your hands full. I would definatly get this if you want something that is fullproof and absolutly positivly has to work.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
small, light weight, durable, energy efficient. I carry one on my keychain. Light is bright enough to hike with if you get caught out after dark. I also keep one in my toiletry kit when traveling. Way better than the Maglite solitare.

This is a great light. I carry it everyday in my pocket, and I use it very frequently. It is lightweight, dependable, sturdy, and compact. It is surprisingly powerful for its small size. I greatly prefer it over the Maglite Solitaire.

Comments about Gerber Tempo LED Flashlight:
I got my Tempo from REI in April 2009 and have carried it on my keychain until this week (August 2009) when it became too unreliable to trust.
Although there is much I like about the Tempo, I cannot recommend buying it because it is less durable than it should be due to a fundamental design flaw.
The Tempo's design flaw is that the LED is too exposed. The tip of the LED is flush with the end of the flashlight which virtually guarantees that other items in a pocket or purse will push against the LED. This flaw caused my Tempo to break after four months of light use. I have to wiggle the LED to get the light to come on. Sometimes a slight wiggle is enough, but often I have to play with the LED for 10-15 seconds to get it to come on and stay on.
Other users/reviewers have experienced the same problem with their Tempos.
If the LED were covered or recessed more deeply (like the LEDs in the excellent Infinity model) the Tempo would be a winner.
On the other hand, if you plan to store your Tempo where there's little chance of other objects rubbing against the LED the Tempo might serve you well. It puts out a decent amount of light for its size, has a solid feel, and uses readily available AAA batteries.
