Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
While I don't have much to compare it to, I have nothing but good things to say about this mount. I bought the first one a year ago right before taking my road bike on a series of road trips. At highway speeds I never once felt insecure about my bike on the roof. Say what you will about the inconvenience of fork mount racks, this one is rock solid and as easy to use as they come. I'm pretty short and had no problem getting even an old heavy mountain bike situated; and my road bike is a breeze. Just bought a second one for shuttling riding companions around. Get a set of locks and you won't have to worry about the rack or your bike when you have to leave it unattended.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
I bought two of these fork-mounted carriers and I've used them on two cars (Saab 9-3 sedan and Hyundai Tucson compact SUV). My longest road trip with two bikes on top has been from Washington, DC to Indiannapolis and back (about 600 miles each way) with no problems at all. I highly recommend getting the faring to dramatically reduce the noise of the racks. It's also not a bad idea to get the lock kits to protect your investment!

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
The Peloton is super easy to use once mounted. I like that the it's easy to adjust the fork clamp in the front to fit your bike. And it clamps securely. And I like that the lock cylinder is incorporated right in (you do have to buy/supply the lock) so I can lock the rack to the car easily when there's no bike.
Solid construction, and I'm looking forward to years and many miles of transporting my road bike.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
We recently bought a Thule rack system for our new Mazda and got a peloton bike rack for it. We had to haul a bike 600 miles back home over the Christmas break, on the freeway in -17 F (real temp), wintry windy weather, and did it on the roof. The rack did a beautiful job, and any attempt to shake the bike moved the whole car, it's that stable. Driving around we barely noticed it up there, not experiencing the noise some complain about. Though it raises our total height to nearly 9 feet, it doesn't buffet around much at all. The ratcheting front dropout arrangement is elegant and simple, really impressive.
The only complaint is that a bike on the roof *kills* gas mileage - our little Mazda 5 gets ~26mpg normally but barely managed 20mpg on that 600 mile stretch. Around town this isn't an issue, and it's not unique to this rack, but it's a definite disadvantage of roof racks.
I highly recommend installing a lock, as it prevents the front mount from disengaging.
We only bought one Peloton before the trip, thinking that if we didn't like it we could return it at the other end. We like it so much that I just bought another one for my wife's bike.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
I have a Thule hitch mount which is basically two Sidearms. It tends to knock my road bike's brakes around and I wonder about that it's doing to the wheel assembly and it is easy to steal the bikes. So I went for a couple fork mount for the roof.
Yeah, you have to take the wheel off but that's really not that bad, it's theft proof, doesn't beat up your wheel and brake, and rock solid. The Pelotons adjust quickly between different forks and hold the bike in place very well. I can shake my car with these things.
So why 3 stars?
1. I have the stupid Rapid Aero Bars and had to buy adapters for my Thule Pelotons to go onto my Thule Aero Bars. That is really getting annoying! Just send both mounting pieces Thule!
2. Not rapid. The back clamps to the bar with a lever and can slide quickly in and out of the Aero Bars. The front has to be removed with a #5 hex key, thus not rapid. Put a lever under the cap Thule. I paid for the bars, they whistle and get no real time savings on any of my components. They look great but that's about it. Just buy the square bars.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
Great product. After adjusting the front fork tension, its lock and load with a simple handle to close tight & lock your bike. The existing straps swap between road and mountain bike tire size making it easy to use the same rack for both my bikes. The more expensive models I've used on friends cars have you pay way to much for "ergonomic" or "aerodynamic" features which seem nice but certainly dont justify the extra cost. This rack has the basics and is a no brainer purchase because its (1) inexpensive, (2) holds your bike tight and (3) is very easy to use. Bottom line, dont buy 1 of the latest & greatest rack for yourself, buy 2 of these for the same price and pick up your friend for a group ride!

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
This is a great rack and I use it for my racing bike and my wife's hybrid. Taking off the front wheel is a minor irritant and only takes a minute or two. I have been very happy with this rack but, sometimes I notice the the latch opens up a bit. The bike stays stable and I don't worry about its security but I wonder why the latch opens sometimes.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
I have both a Peloton and a Criterium mounted on my Scion XB. I love both racks. The Peloton is rock solid. Removing the front wheel is a minor hassle at worst, but for that reason I tend to use the Criterium more often. My mountain bike (Cannondale Jekyll - 44 inch wheelbase) barely fits the Peloton. The back wheel is at the very end of the tray. Plenty of room for my road bike (Specialized Roubaix)
Changing the rack from bike to bike (mine, my wifes, my kids) is easily accomplished with the thumb screw under the locking base. Removal/replacement of the whole rack only takes about 3 minutes.
Both the Peloton and the Criterium are great racks. If you want a little more rigidity, get the Peloton. If you want a little more ease of use, get the Criterium.

Comments about Thule Peloton Bike Fork Mount:
The mount was easy to install and holds the bike nice and tight. The tension on the front fork is easily adjusted, once you set it you basically forget about it.
The bike seems to be stable when fastened down. I grabbed the front fork and seat tube and tried to rock the bike, the bike stayed in place but the car rocked on its suspension. (Specialized Rockhopper Pro Disc with 26" x 2" tires)
The front end is notched out to accomodate disc brakes, something the older models didn't have.
I wish they had a way to make it just as stable while keeping the front wheel on. This is fairly minor since it really isn't that difficult to reinstall front wheels.
