I really like the bullet shape and small size of this bottle. It jives in multiple ways with a Maxpedition sling pack (I use a Colossus pack). I would definitely have preferred a different top so that I don't have two loose pieces every time I use the bottle itself as my coffee mug, but the shape/size is what sold me. Otherwise be advised -the REI logo includes gooey black "paint" that is sticky, comes off, and that *will* mark up your hands, clothes, or pack until you wear or scrub it off. The white paint stays put. Where was REI QA on this one? Otherwise, a different style top might have gotten a score of 5 from me, but again, I like the bullet shape.....

i use this thermos every day to bring coffee/tea with me to class. it is a great size to slip into my backpack and have enough to last me through a morning.

i often have tea/coffee at night and if i cant finish it, i will just close up the lid and the drink will still be steaming hot the next morning. it's unbelievable.

ive had some trouble getting the lid to close properly when ive overfilled it even the teensiest bit. if im not paying attention when i overfill and try to screw the lid on, it will be crooked and leak everywhere. the capacity is a little modest, but it is enough, and the tradeoff is being able to put it in my purse if i had to. also, the rubber stopper part of the lid squeaks a little when you screw the top in (not such a big deal, but it can be bothersome sometimes).

I used this to store a large helping of warm brandy for my camping trip this weekend. After 12+ hours in the cold, it was nice to have a few sips of warm brandy without starting a fire, or stove, or anything.
However, I did notice that the cup got warm very quickly (an hour or two in). This isn't too big of deal because the contents of the bullet bottle were still warm.

The shape of the container seems to maximize capacity, and storage/carrying convenience. I intend to pack a few hot stews/soups with this for lunch from time to time.

Cleaning is a bit difficult- after rinsing it out, I turned the bottle upside down, and shook hard. I then let it sit right-side-up on a countertop, only to come back a few hours later to find a small pool of water at the bottom. I shook it out again, and inspected the bottle to find small beads of water sticking to the sides. A few deft strokes of paper towel took care of that, but ideally, the bottle would be able to be "shaken dry"

I do not plan on filling this with hot tea, because I drink a lot of tea, and 10 oz just isn't enough for me! Coffee, maybe. Hot chocolate while sledding- grab the larger version, so you can share with a friend!
