The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Dumplings with Chicken - 2 Servings:
We were not prepared to do any cooking on a 7 night backpcking trip in Glacier National Park. We were very dismayed to discover that this product required cooking to be edible. All the other meals we took only required boiling water to be added but this one had to be cooked! Luckily one member of our party had a metal bowl so we managed to get this meal prepared .....barely! The package states "add boiling water".

I love bread and this meal is one of the best I've ever tried. I prepared this at around 9,700 ft above sea-level and I went by the directions on the package and it turned out perfect. The dumplings (bread) was fluffy. Add a few more items to this (diced carrot, little more onion, etc.) and you've pretty much got chicken pot pie.

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Dumplings with Chicken - 2 Servings:
With a little preparation, this meal is one of the tastiest you'll ever experience in the back country. FYI, you'll need your 1 liter pot & a little extra fuel. This is not your typical add water, stir, let sit for ten minutes, & enjoy meal. REI currently has the preparation description wrong. Cooking over a low heat for a short period is required to prepare the chicken, peas, & gravy. While this is simmering, add water to the dumpling mix & stir in their own pouch. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the chicken gravy as soon as it boils. This step forms the dumplings. Total cook time is about 15 minutes. WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!

This thing tasted like I had found an untapped salt mine. Gummy gloppy slop that requires too much water, long cook time, extra pot and fuel to be considered something I''d bother hiking the weight in. Save your money and don't buy this excrement.

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Dumplings with Chicken - 2 Servings:
Chicken and Dumplings has been our favorite backcountry meal for over 15 years. It is the one meal we all look forward to on weeklong trips. Why cause it tastes real good and the dumplings taste like real bread.

Good Meal, tastes great. Easy to prepare. I would suggest preparing in the Outback Oven which makes it easy, dumplings come out golden brown and the peas get cooked without being hard or dry. Worth the effort of packing. Wonderfull reward after hiking all day.

Comments about Backpacker's Pantry Dumplings with Chicken - 2 Servings:
We had this our last night out. It was pretty good, it needs to cool a bunch so you don't burn your mouth on the hot doughy dumplings, but that is user error, we were way too hungry to wait. It doesn't take horribly long to prepare, and doesn't even really require a bowl to mix in. We used a zip lock baggie to make the dough in then cut the corner off and plopped it in.
It was pretty good, filling and not too bland.
