Comments about Century LED Lantern:
I bought this thinking I wasn't getting the world's greatest lantern. At nearly 50% of the cost of similar products and no obvious differences, I assumed the savings was that the light levels wouldn't be great. I was not wrong. This will light up a tent or a canopy over a cooking area poorly. That being said, I wasn't exactly performing surgery by it and overall it did okay.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
The lamp only has one button and sometimes you have to press it several times before the light decides to turn on. It only has two settings but it seems like it has a malfunction with the button or it was meant to have more lighting options. Either way, it really wasn't worth the cost, so go with another model.

[...]. We only read the reviews after purchasing, and almost returned it. However, it worked great on our trip, and during an Irene-related power outage. We set it on a small table in the tent and played a game of 'Trouble' while it poured rain outside. We also hung it at times and it gave enough light to function in our 6-person tent. To read with it you would need to have it close. We all enjoyed it! Especially considering the price!

Badly designed. Button broke after only a few uses. It was pretty nice while it worked.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
Bought this in preparation for a car camping trip to Moab at my local REI store. I've never had so many problems. Maybe it was just me, but the bottom was impossible to screw on with the batteries in. It took my husband 5 minutes after I spent 15.
Still not the main problem... We have a new tent, so we set it up to and put the latern in to see if it could hang from the top, lightweight made that possible. Too bad after turning it on twice and off once, the button stuck and the ONLY way to turn it off was to take the batteries out. Despite everything we tried, the button is stuck and this will be going back to REI.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
Surprisingly bright light for such a small lantern, and really enabled me to get a few things done around my campsite when it got dark. Best part about this lantern was I took it on an 8 day camping trip in Montana and accidentally left the light on over night on the first day of the trip. The lantern maintained the same level of brightness for the next week and I didn't have to change the batteries. It was great.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
Like most other people mentioned, this guy is blindingly bright, but what I realized - the real problem is in the glass or plastic that surrounds the light. It's purely clear. I took some sandpaper and scratched it up to produce a more opaque glass and it works great, lights up well and does not blind anyone anymore. Give that a shot if you still have this guy.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
We mostly car camp. This light is just like the other reviewers say. Blinding, but nearly useless. In a tent, it works nicely. Doesn't help with cooking or setting up camp. I did like the hook that flips out, it does make this light a little more useful.

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
Great tent light. I didn't need to use my book light to read and the light dissipates well. I did try to use it as a flashlight to find my way to an outhouse at one point, and it was pretty useless at that. Fairly light. Can attach it to a backpack. A little bulky for long-term backpacking

Comments about Century LED Lantern:
Like the other reviews said, the light output range could be better. However, I think it is adequate and serves its purpose for car camping. Light enough to hang from the center of a tent. Provides adequate light for getting adjusted, arranging the tent at night, etc. Nice because the light is not so bright that you will annoy other campers. Not as bright as a standard lantern though if that is what you are looking for.
