I bought this watch looking for something rugged, simple, accurate and NOT digital. This watch is perfect. While a little heavy (all metal), it's a great watch for anything outdoors. I mean, who needs all the extra gizmos, all you need is the time. I did replace the band with a Timex velcro one. Not that the original band isn't good, I just like the velcro ones better.

Was in the market for a basic watch that I could wear on a daily basis and would take a beating and not show it. Looked at a number of fancier more expensive watches but wasn't convinced.[...].I don't mind the weight as I like things that way, sturdy and built to last. The water-resistant leather band also cuts down on any funky smell which all of my watches have suffered. My only gripe and it's a minor one is the leather loops to keep the strap in will break off within a year. They are thin and kept together with a single-stitch.

This Timex watch failed me twice. The first wouldn't keep time - lost one to two minutes per day; stopped for 8 hours one night inexplicably. So, I exchanged it for another. Two days later, the back plating of the second watch fell off while I was wearing it! I returned the second one to REI and told them I was through with this. "Made in China" - come on, Timex. I've had Timex watches before and they were NOTHING like this. Something has gone seriously wrong here.

This watch is pretty straight forward and doesn't have a lot of thrills. It is what I was looking for at the time. The illumination of the hands is nice as well as the backlight. For everyday use it was nice. But I am pretty hard on things I guess. The band came apart after about 5 months of use and the face would fog up really bad if it got in water for more than a second. I surf and fish a lot, so this was annoying. When the band broke I returned it and am shopping for a new watch now.

I use this watch for everything, from work to recreation. The only gripe I have about it is the straps are worthless. I replaced my straps with a rubber band and have had no problems/ complaints since then.

picked up this watch from the REI sale table (backwards clapper on band), got a pair of pliers, flipped the clapper around, voila I got an 80% discounted Timex

fits well, very comfortable, indiglo works well, screen/numbers large enough to see/read

Time will tell about the durability, I will fix the review accordingly after I wear it around for a while

Got this as a Christmas present. Always thought Timex was a cheap watch.......and it still is.

I work outside and durability is a must.

Went thru 2. Stem fell off of both. First one lasted 1 month, second one about 2 weeks. Never had a stem fall out of a watch in the 50 years I have been wearing one.

Unfortunately/fortunately for me REI has a bullet proof return policy. I just hope the can return it to Timex and do not have to 'eat it'!

I bought one, and right away the glow light didn't work. I took that one back and got a replacement. That one worked for two weeks, then the time adjustment wheel fell off and it went dead. Beware.....
