I like this product well enough that it's actually the second set I've purchased. Holding the boat on it's side maximizes carrying capacity, allowing the family minivan to carry our canoe and 2 kayaks on a 60" crossbar. It will take the 9' boat my son uses or my 16' tandem without any modification. The included straps hold either kayak securely, even at highway speeds. It's easy to install, and is easily removable to store in your car once you reach your destination. Highly recommended!

I like this product. It really makes getting the kayak on and off easy, and provides great tie downs. I attach it to the Yakima 58" cross bars. It seems to fit well with my factory rack cross bars (in more of the flat aero shape), but I can't use this product with my factory car rack as the cross bars angle up too high (Officially the Yakima website tells me that this product will not work with my factory cross bars, so that was expected). I have a 2009 Toyota Matrix

So, overall - This is a great easy to use product. I wish I could compare this to products that use "saddles" instead of the "J style", but I've never tried the saddle versions.

I mounted the Hull Raiser to my Tacoma truck. I was able to fit the Kayak, mountain bike, & my surfboard. I should be prepared for any adventure now!

My wife and I purchased kayaks. I thought they would be able to sit side by side on top of our car. They did not of course. Thank goodness for the Hull Raiser. We have started to have some good experiences now that we can get the kayaks to the water.

We use these racks for two kayaks on the same vehicle. Very easy and quick to load/unload with two people. We had problems with one tie down strap that frayed after a long road trip, but the other three straps were fine so we're not sure what the issue was -- and [...] provided a quick and easy exchange of the defect. The racks and boats create very little noise when driving on the highway for long trips, which is a plus!
