Third eye rear view mirror
Don’t leave home without it! I rather have this mirror than my helmet. I use helmet, but the awareness this mirror brings while riding its live saving! I have used this mirror for as long as I can remembered. Got this at the REI store in LA while away from home and no mirror to ride. Takes a little riding to get use to and properly set mirror to see traffic behind you. Once you do, it’s unobtrusive and comfortable on the frame. Could pull your glasses out of alignment if frame is not sturdy. They same company sell a smaller one that weight less and I Iike better, but REI was out of it.
Takes body rotation out of seeing behind you
Before I retired, I used to ride my bike to the transit center & the bus would take me and my bike to work. I noted then that it was awkward & for me, unstable, to try and turn around to see if there was a car behind me. Finally, 2yrs later, I invested in a bike mirror. This one received the most reviews and the price was right so I purchased it. If it were not for the internet, I would probably still be trying to figure out how to configure it on my paticular helmet, but thankfully, a help video took all the guesswork out of installing it. So, seeing if a car is coming behind me: Check
worked for me-recommended
This mirror worked great attached to Tifosi Davos glasses (see pictures), very pleased. Much more relaxed riding, knowing when a car is not there. Not easy to figure out best position, and my helmet visor is not appropriate, but see pictures, this set up with Tifosi's was easy and worked well. (The mirror is brilliantly clear, and the frame material is brass and stainless, very nicely engineered.)
Quality and safety in sight
Every time I lose this I replace it with the same. I've tried others and this one holds up to the elements. Sure, you have to adjust it for your frames, head, or helmet, and it does take a little getting used to - but they all do. The brass and aluminum on this product makes it flexible and durable. BTW - I use this for rowing, not cycling, in a marine environment. Being able to see behind me (you face backwards when rowing) without twisting around improves your safety, the set of the boat, and your body position relative to the horizon. Great product!
Yep, this is the one you want
Yes, the other reviewers are correct, this is the best option out there. I've tried the others and they pale in comparision to this model. Takes several rides to get accustomed to but don't give up, it will become second nature after a while. You'll fiddle with the mirror angle a LOT during your first few rides so be careful with that distraction. Yes, you'll need to turn/tilt your head a little to get the best view behind you but once you master the technique you'll appreciate the added safety this mirror provides. I just returned from a 300 mile road trip with this unit and the peace of mind it provides is beyond words. I won't leave home without it.
Looking Back to See!
Excellent product. Very versatile and adjustable. Stays put and doesn’t loose adjustment even on very rough roads. Works great attached to helmet visor or glasses. I like helmet though.
Great rear visibility
I've tried both handlebar and helmet mirrors, and this is the best I've found for adjustability and clear visibility to the side and rear. It took awhile to figure out how to fit it to my helmet, with help from Youtube videos. I use a piece of double-sided velcro looped through the ventilation holes in my helmet to hold it in place. Once in place it adjusts nicely up-down and side-to-side to find the best view. I'm going to get another one so I have complete side and rearview visibility.
An Essential Bike Accessory
I've found this cycling mirror super helpful and use it attached to my glasses. I recommend a mirror similar to this to all cyclists and ebikers. It's great for seeing traffic approaching from behind and for keeping tabs on my cycling buddy. Glasses- and helmet-attached mirrors take a few rides to adjust and to get used to. After that I find them indispensable. I miss my mirror if I don't have it and, to my surprise. After I've been using it a lot on my bike, I also miss it when I'm walking. This mirror has held up well and I have purchased a few of them over the last 15 years or so.
Don't leave home without it
I purchased this helmet-mounted mirror (I was originally going to install it on my bicycle safety glasse)from another venue, however it works great once you practice patience, take a little time to properly install it between your helmet visor and the helmet (visor removal may be necessary). I had gone about five miles, in the dark, before I finally got the proper angle adjusted to work for viewing traffic in the mirror. It may take you more or less time to get the proper angle adjustment, but whatever it takes it sure beats turning your head around to look at traffic. This was my first helmet-mounted mirror and it works perfectly. I won't leave home without it in the future.
Perfect alternative to handlebar mirrors.
I had a handlebar mirror and I couldn't stand it. I took it off and realized just how much I used it. I did some research on forums and looked at reviews and decided on this one. Been using it a couple of days now and I love it. I have it mounted on my helmet visor. I have seen a couple of videos that say to wrap some tape around the visor and mirror. Seems ghetto to me. I secured mine with a small, inconspicuous zip tie. I like the size as it isn't in my line of sight. It isn't distracting and it's easy to adjust and holds that adjustment until you bump it or ride through a low hanging tree branch. Don't ask. I can't add much more than I like the mirror. It was easy to install and it...a mirror.
