The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
These grips are the most comfortable grips out there, period. Once you get them dialed in your wrists will thank you.
There are a few caveats to that, though. Dialing them in just right takes a while. Their tilt adjustment is very important and it will require several rides to get them perfect. Some complain that they limit technical riding ability, but they probably don't have them adjusted right. After the process of adjusting them, they provide a wonderful balance between grip security and comfort. Once they're there, they clamp nicely and stay put.
They're "not compatible" with twist shifters, though you can buy special "twist shift compatible" versions for about double the price. Don't do that and don't worry if you have twist shifters. Five minutes with a hacksaw and these are perfectly twist shift compatible.
They're kind of heavy for grips, but if you're worried about the grams your grips put on your bike then you're riding a SID and nothing about your bike is comfortable anyway. For everyone else, the weight "penalty" is well worth it.

Since putting these grips on, I have not had any numbness, even on 2 hr plus rides. These are the real deal.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
I'm liking the feel of the grips, but I am not happy with the super tiny bar ends. I'm going to trade these in for the version that is sans-bar ends, and put my own beefier set on.
But overall, pretty comfortable on long rides (4 hours +). Excited to use these on Kokopelli next month.

Don't buy imitations. They don't last like the Ergon's

Thanks for the reviews folks, they helped me decide, and y'all were right, these are nice, nice grips. No more numbness.
My bike is a flat bar commuter that I also ride for touring. I prefer the flat bars for around town because the shifters are convenient. And at my age - 69- I use a lot of gears for the hills around Austin, Texas.
I like the bar ends that allow me to change positions, and the design is superb. About two weeks now, and they reall make a difference.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
Added to my Trek FX hybrid/fitness bike. Had major numbness problems, these eliminated most of that. Took a little adjustment time but got them perfect. Put around 1500 miles on them last year. Dont recommend for MTB/BMX type bikes as it sort of "locks" your hand position. Had to cut them down around 1/2" plus moved all my gear in...the bar ends push your hand position in a bit so the brakes had to be moved in. The feel of the bar end in a cruising position took some time to get used to (outer palm rubs against the bar end), now I dont even notice them until I decide to use them, repositioning my hands. Great well made product, dont care about the "grams" here and there. Decent gloves plus these makes for a great combo.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
Replaced my basic Ritchey grips with these, and they have performed wonders for the health of my wrist. The bar ends are great, not very obtrusive, and yet supportive. Cinch to install, it was the installed rubber grips that were a bear to remove.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
I am a heavier guy and most bike grips hurt my hands due to pressure points. But these eliminate that by evenly distributing pressure to my whole palm. The install is very simple, but it will take a while to find the most comfortable position, maybe a few rides, but everything on a bike that is customizable is like that. I love these.

Comments about Ergon Performance Grip GC2-L:
These are way too long if you have grip shifts, as someone else mentioned. You could cut them, but that would look bad and they flare towards the end, so may not be a clean transition.
