Thieves cut this cable cleanly and stole my $1800 road bike. It's great for casual deterrence but not anybody with a good pair of cutters. If you're really worried about your bike being stolen go with something a lot stronger - the thieves are well tooled out there.

This lock was cut by bolt cutters in only a few seconds, it's worthless. I lost a $2500 bike due to it's weakness.

This is a great lock. It's quite heavy, but as long as your planning on keeping both wheels on the pavement 95% of the time then no worries.

Comments about OnGuard Doberman Cable with Padlock - 8mm:

I see the reviews of some other people using only this as their protection. Cable locks are a DETERANT, not an ASSURANCE. They are best used as a secondary lock, with something like a U-Lock or a Chain Lock as the primary.

With that in mind, it is a very good lock. Durable, light-weight, and simple. For wrapping through the wheels and frame, it works perfectly. Would also be good for things like securing outdoor decorations, ladders, and the like. Very good, especially at this price.
