The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Black Diamond nForce Ascender:
Took a little bit to learn the different mechanics compared to similar ascenders such as Petzl, but after that, you realize the extra effort in the design is what sets these ascenders apart, and the best i've used.
-The cams grabbed as advertised(I have yet to use these in wet and/or cold conditions), and released easily.
-The teeth look like they would tear your rope up, yet were as smooth as any mechanical asenders i've used.
-There was the frustrating "nose-diving", it was remedied by keeping nforce in a strict vertical position while moving upwards, no deviation.
-I dropped one about 50 feet, on firm dirt, no problems. The extra moving parts cleaned out easily.
-lightweight, extremely strong and stable for all the moving parts, etc, i couldn't be happier..

Comments about Black Diamond nForce Ascender:
Takes a little bit to learn the intricacies of these over the Petzl's, but they work very well.
At first, when I would pull the cam with my index finger (to lower the ascender on the rope) I would manage to open it completely, popping it off the rope! I've since trained myself to only grab the cam with the tip of my finger, staying away from the cam release trigger. It is nice to be able to open the cam completely with my index finger when I need to.
Also takes a little practice to keep it from "nose diving", where the cam will engage while sliding up the rope.
Otherwise, I'm sure I will enjoy these beauties for a long time.
