Comments about Black Diamond QuickWire Quickdraw Set - 18cm:
The title of my review speaks to the fact that longer dogbones are more versitile. However, they are not as ridgid as shorter ones. Over all these are pretty good draws.

Comments about Black Diamond QuickWire Quickdraw Set - 18cm:
The longer dogbone is useful to reduce rope drag and makes clipping in with the rope easier. For the price, I expected a straight nose design to go with the straight gate carabiner. Straight noses allow easier clipping and cleaning from the bolt without risk of the nose getting snagged.

Comments about Black Diamond QuickWire Quickdraw Set - 18cm:
I've got a full rack of these which I use at the local quarry, and I love them.
On the weight-price scale, they fit somewhere in the middle. They're more expensive than something like Omega-Pacific Dirtbag draws, but lighter. They're heavier than something like a DMM Spectre draw, but cheaper.
The 'biners are a no-frills, rugged, classic asymmetrical BD shape without any odd bends or angles. They're larger than the toy-sized ultralights, easy to grab and clip into bolts, and the straight wire takes a rope easily.
I know it's high-tech synthetic, but the dogbone still looks a little thin. After a few screamers at the crag, I'm fairly confident in the material's holding ability.
Overall, great draws with a comfortable, simple design and a nice compromise between light weight and low cost. You can go cheaper, but you can definitely go much more expensive.

Comments about Black Diamond QuickWire Quickdraw Set - 18cm:
Though pricy, these draws are great, especially if you're the kind of climber who likes the straight-gate for bolts and anchoring, and prefers the wire-gate for clipping in while leading. Clipping is smooth, quick, and efficient relative to heavier types of biners. Admittedly I was hesitant about buying wire-gate quickdraws since they appear less secure than traditional straight-gate options (it's purely psychological) but I'm glad I did. One suggestion [...]A package deal of these would be nice, especially if the price were comparable to other quickdraw bundles. Sold individually, these are quite pricy.
