Comments about Electra Townie 21 700C Women's Bike:
This bike rides like no other. The handlebars are up high so your back is completely straight and upright, unlike a lot of other “upright” bikes. This is the only bike that I have tried that does not cause back or shoulder pain. The petals sit a little closer to the front wheel, so your legs extend farther than a traditional bike, which is alleviates jarring of your knees. The flat foot technology allows you to sit on it with your feet still touching the ground. It is easy to get used to this and very comfortable. The seat is nice and wide and supportive, yet soft. The middle of the seat is made of an even softer, squishy material for women. It rides somewhat like a big Harley motorcycle hog, very laid back. The only downfall is that it is heavier than a traditional style bike and other bikes I tried such as the Novara Flirt and slightly heavier than the Novara Mia. The weight does make it a little harder to go up hills and against wind. I have to be in one lower gear than I would on lighter bikes. The Townie does come in other fun colors. I have a beautiful blue model that I bought in the store. And if you try it and don't like it, REI has an amazing return policy.

Comments about Electra Townie 21 700C Women's Bike:
I would recommend this bike to a friend. I just purchased this bike a few months ago and I love this bike. I started back biking recently to get in shape, I am a avid swimmer and play water polo.
This will help me get in better shape. I have an old bike that I was riding and it bothered my back after a long bike ride and it was uncomfortable to ride. This bike is so comfortable to ride and it does not bother my back. I wish it did come in other colors.

everything is fine, however it just needs more options in color selections. Not just platinum

Comments about Electra Townie 21 700C Women's Bike:
I am a plus size woman who has always hated bike riding. Never could find a bike I liked, legs never felt right, seat was uncomfortable. The list was endless. Needless to say I had almost given up on biking until I found the Townie. Oh my....I love riding my Townie. It is comfortable, sturdy and very fun to ride. Seat is comfy, legs feel great thanks to upright position and easily adjustable seat (5'7" with average length legs). Definitely worth the price!!!
