Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
Good little light, but will not work when temps fall below freezing. Took on long weekend campout in January when temps on first night were 23 and second night 15. Both times, as soon as I pushed light switch the light turned on then off and would never come back on. When temps climbed above 32, the light would work perfectly again.

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
What a bright little light! For being extremely small and compact, this lantern generates a large amount of light. That beind said, the small size of the lantern mildly restricts the light output. I often had to pick up the lantern and hold it at an angle to see things around it - somewhat defeating the purpose of a lantern to set down for light.
The legs are also a little flimsy looking, though they haven't caused any problems yet.
You can't go wrong for the price, though I might be a headlamp to go with it.

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
This is a nice light. It would be nicer to have a few if you have 4-6 people sitting around playing cards. Definitely not as bright as a gas lantern, and should not be used to replace your usual lanterns. But it is great for in the tent or for a small cooking light.

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
The two light settings offer low light output or a higher light output. The lantern is hardly equivalent to a Coleman lantern, but for size, weight, and safety, this little lantern works well enough.
The 1 watt LED puts it ahead of less powerful lights. On high beam there is enough light to read something if the lantern is close to the reading material.
Using AA lithium batteries to provide long storage time makes it a good emergency light to have around the house for power failures during storms.

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
this was a good piece of equipment, I just expected a bit more interms of the output. Maybe an error in my judging the equipment versus being a poor product. this item is good in the same way that a flashlight me be good for general light, but the glare is even a bit tough for tent use

Nice little light to have for the tent or campground. Ordered online and was a bit surprised at the size of the lantern, it's kinda on the small side. The light output is very good so I am pretty happy with it.

This is a Fun little light when sitting around talking to friends at night when you are not aloud to build campfires, and in the tent it is a lifesaver when you need to find something.

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
I liked this lantern -- especially the weight and light output. But I would consider it a luxury for normal adult backpacking (a headlamp makes much more sense). With the kids however (and I drag along three) it was a different story. This was awesome for tent lighting with kids involved. They felt safer and were able to play games and read. Under that scenario this baby is a real winner. I have two one for each tent in my two-tent family!

Comments about Brunton Glorb LED XB Lantern:
The light output from this thing is great for inside a tent or to make dinner by, but definitely not enough to light up your whole camp like a full-size lantern would.
It's very, very small, making it perfect for backcountry trips. Seems pretty durable, too. I've used it for week-long adventures in the desert, and it's held up very well indeed.
Battery life is okay, but not great. I use rechargeables and a solar charger, so it's ready to go after a day of charging, but you'd have to bring a lot of alkalines for an extended trip.
I had one of the original ones, before they added the diffuser over the LED. The newer model (this one, the XB) is a big improvement over the original, which cast a nasty, glaring light. The light from the XB is nice, white, and diffuse.
This and a headlamp will get you through any length backcountry trip just fine.

Great little lantern. Very safe to use, no need to worry about a flame or excess heat. Illuminates tent well enough to perform tasks. Can't beat the compact design.
