Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Hyper-Mtn Sleeping Pad - Regular:
I got this thinking it would be the best of both worlds, comfort and light weight. I was wrong. The first night out on this (granted it was on stone)was miserable. I usually can sleep on anything and it would have been better if I just slept on the rock. Just letting it inflate for an hour and then locking the cap, I felt like I was rolling off one side then the other. So I let the air out (there is very little foam underneath the air pocket) and then it felt like I was sleeping in a pot hole... So I went in between (letting some of the self inflated air out with a quick twist of the cap) and I still had the rolling off one side then the other feeling. I'm taking it back and getting old reliable Therm-a-Rest Ridge.I normally wouldn't write anything negative, but I've been helped many times by people who write these reviews both positive and negative. So I apologize if I just burst your bubble. Maybe it will work for you. [...]

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Hyper-Mtn Sleeping Pad - Regular:
I read the other user reviews, and wanted to add my two sense. From my experience with this pad, it is a Winter Weather Sleeping Pad. Bulky, yeah, because it is warmer that almost everything out there. Lightweight, heck yes, and that is what makes it a good pad for winter camping; very low swing weight, so, I strap it under my lid and forget it is there. Failsafe, YES, with self inflating foam over the closed cell, you have a little to worry about punctured, but hey, when do you sleep on dirt in the winter....SNOW CAMPING! And to that, slip it in a bivy, and you will not slide off. This is not a general backpacking pad, but if you are going to be snow camping, I would not recommend anything else. My advice to the other less than favorable reviews, think about your purchase and what the product is designed for before you make a poor choice. It sounds like they should be sleeping on POE All Out Pads!! Thats my choice for comfy 3 season camping where weight and space are issues!

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Hyper-Mtn Sleeping Pad - Regular:
This pad best used for car-camping. It will NOT roll into a size small enough for hiking unless you don't mind cutting back on food or your tent. The only way to stay on the bag and not slip off is to not inflate.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Hyper-Mtn Sleeping Pad - Regular:
This is without a doubt, the worst investment, I have ever made. The blow up section is extremely slick, and uncomfortable, leading to many restless nights. It is well insulated and is warm, IF you can manage to stay on. Every night, I used this, I have found myself tossing and turning for hours only to wake up the next morning completely off the mat. Not only that, but it is extremely bulky, the closed-cell construction, although insulating is just way too thick, and leads to major issues when packing small.

Comments about Pacific Outdoor Equipment Hyper-Mtn Sleeping Pad - Regular:
This mat is very dislikeable, very bulky, and uncomfortable to sleep on it. I don't use it anymore because it hurts my back every time I do. I will not recommend to anybody. Take my word for it, don't buy it, is not worth it.
