The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I bought my first kayak this year! Being a big investment for me-kayak, pfd, paddle-I wanted the lightest paddle that I could afford. This was IT! it was the absolute best deal. 28oz for [$]-I couldn't find anything that even came close. In the paddle shops carbon paddles were like [$] yikes! I have used this all summer and fall and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I've been kayaking for four summers at a nearby lake and didn't realize what a difference the right size and weight in paddles can make. I am petite and weigh about 125 lbs. so using this paddle makes kayaking much more enjoyable since I don't exert as much energy and can be out paddling for longer periods of time. In fact I can keep up with my husband and out-paddle him in some instances. I'm a low angle paddler and ordered the 230 cm size which works out really well as I have a kayak that has a wider cockpit. This paddle is just as advertised..."Solid in the water and light in the hand."
Service and delivery comments:
I had to wait a couple of weeks longer because it was not in stock. Probably because it was at the end of the season. REI promptly notified me of the delay. However, I am happy that I remained with my original order since I wouldn't trade it for another paddle.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I'm experienced in Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling, dragonboating, SUP and I just purchased my very first kayak along with this String Ray paddle. If you paddle often, then you know that investing in a comfortable, fatigue-free, lightweight and durable paddle is very important on the water. The Sting Ray meets all of that criteria. I am 5'7" and the 230cm was perfect while kayaking out on Lake Union/Washington in Seattle.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I have 2 Adv Elements inflatable kayaks that I like to leave in my car (for when the moment and a nearby body of water catch my fancy) so I bot the 4-piece paddles. Until I bot these paddles I had always invested in "light weight" wood paddles. I didn't know what "light weight" meant. These paddles are incredible. Not as light as the all-carbon paddles (about $400), but then neither is my bank account for having bot the next-best thing.
I've used the paddles a lot for 2 years and they show no wear.
When I break them down, I cover the shaft ends with a doubled-over sock held on with a rubber band to keep dirt off. If you get dirt on the shaft ends you might never get them apart, which is true of most good paddles!!!
I always got a neck ache from holding up a heavier paddle over the course of 4 or more hours on the water, but not with these. I smile at the thought of all those early-in-the paddling-season PT sessions I've avoided (and don't have to pay for) because I no longer get neck aches!
Make sure you get the right length. My 5' 2" wife and I (5' 10") use 230s. She, in the front, has to reach a bit farther out to paddle past the middle of the kayak while I can paddle in closer at the rear so don't go simply by height. Consider also the width of the kayak you'll have to reach out over.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I am a kayak guide in Hawaii, and have been using this paddle for almost 2 years. It has held up well under my day in and day out use. The shaft is comfortable for extended paddles and the overall weight of the paddle makes for an easy day on the water. The blades have proven to be durable even under landings on rock shorelines and the occasional surf session.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
I paddle a 17' sea kayak on large lakes and class 1 rivers around central TN and this was my first paddle.
I chose it because it was light, adjustable and had a smaller blade size to minimize fatigue or strain as I developed paddling strength.
I'm impressed with how firmly the TLC locks the shafts together; I was afraid it might wobble at the joint but it's rock solid.
The shaft is plenty strong enough for paddle float re-entrys, and I've grounded the blade many, many times on rocks and stumps in shallow waters, and going down the lower two sections of the Ocoee River in Eastern TN.
After using this for 2 months, I found that I was more of a high-angle paddler, so I bought a Manta-Ray aluminum shaft paddle, and keep this in my boat as a spare.

Comments about Aqua-Bound Stingray Carbon Paddle:
There are lighter paddles out there for a lot more money but this was a good balance of lightweight and reasonable cost. Since I'm a beginner paddler, I wanted to be able to enjoy paddling and after some research, reviews stated that weight does matter. Deciding on this one was a good choice to use with Emotion Spitfire. For low angle paddling, this fits the bill.
