Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
I've been riding my new REI Novara bike in full-length tights. But SHEESH! it's now 'way too hot here in inland SoCalif to do that any more, so I took a flyer on this stuff to see if it would protect me. And it DOES!! I can wear shorts!!! Absolutely no sign of anything. It really is 'extreme protection'. Most highly recommended for us blue-eyed sensitive folks or for anyone who wants the heavy-duty real stuff.

Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
The sun in Australia is HARSH. I spend hours cycling. This product, applied to clean, dry skin, is the best I've ever used. Top up throughout day with this (or any SPF 30+) & you can do anything - even in even vicious sun. I can spend 10 hrs on the bike in 100 F & have never burnt my fair, freckly skin. Don't leave home without it!

Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
I spent 8 days out in the sun canoeing/camping and applied this sunscreen once in the morning, a refresher at lunch, and then one last refresher at around 3pm and didn't get anything close to a burn the entire time. Very effective, and the hole in the casing was perfect for a small carbiner to attach it to my waist pack so it was always handy.

Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
During six days in the desert of southern Utah in July, this sunscreen worked great. I probably used about 4 ounces over the course of the six days. I applied it once in the morning, and it worked all day, including some extended swimming in a river. The first day, my arms got somewhat red, but they never burned or hurt. The stuff contains titanium dioxide and goes on as a white film -- good to see where you applied it. The white disappears after about a minute. Like most sunscreens, it probably makes you feel a bit hotter and sweatier than without it, but that's par for the course. I have always considered all sunscreens of equivalent SPF value the same - but no more. This is the stuff to use for great sun protection.

Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
This is easily some of the best sunscreen I have ever used!! It goes on thick and dries clear in a short time. The sunscreen stays on in water and does not rub or sweat off. I never have to worry about getting sunburn from harsh uv rays. For any outdoor activity or outing, you cannot afford to be without this sunscreen. I would absolutely recommend this to everyone, since you skin is so important and should always be protected.

Comments about REI Extreme Protection Sunblock SPF 50 - 8 oz.:
When I venture outdoors at the beginning of spring, my skin is so white that drivers are blinded. I need a good sunscreen, and I've tried a lot of them. One day I was at REI and grabbed a bottle of their sunblock, and I am really glad I did. It's the best ever! It's easy to apply, dries quickly, isn't greasy, lasts a long time, and protects even pasty-white me perfectly. I'll never use anything else again.
