Plenty of room and well organized. I was able to carry plenty of necessary stuff when traveling. Fits easily on planes and travels well on metro trains. The adjusting strap was a welcome breeze for moving the bag from back to front lap when having to sit down. Excellent padding for your laptop. For heavier loads definitely grab the strap pad.

Stumbled on the bag when shopping a while back and looking for a better bag than the one the company provided with my laptop. Has been a godsend! Can fit a lot of extras, as well as my laptop, file folders, notebook, ipod, etc. ONly con I had was the strap it came with. If I load up the bag the strap does get a bit uncomfy. My husband (who also has the same bag and travels a LOT with his) switched out the strap though to a more padded one and loves the bag. Well worth the money!

    I bought this bad from the Troy store about 2 years ago. I LOVE IT. Its perfect in every way. Stylish, lots of pocket space for my keys, cell phone, ipaq, flash drives, paper work, bible, flash light, knife, calculator, extra phone charger, pens, business cards, school books, digital camera, hair gel, and lots more. I use this bag for everything. As a matter of fact, my original bag was stolen last winter, and I promptly went out and bought a brand new one. When I find something that works, I stick to it.

    My only complaint is that I wish it had a better protection from the top. The messenger flip top is great, but it would be nice if had more security on hard rain days. But it just takes alittle pulling of top ends to cover everything up.

    Over all, I LOVE the bag, and I do not know what I ever did without it.

      This bag is well worth the price tag. I've had it for 3+ years now and outside of a few coffee stains, NOTHING has shown wear and tear. At first I thought the strap wouldn't be comfortable as there was no padding but this has never been a problem since its so wide. It holds everything you need and more. I find that that back pocket is great for stowing away travel tickets and receipts when i travel and the padded laptop pocket offers keeps my hardware nicely snug. The only downside if anything is that the side pockets on the outside arent deep enough where I can truly feel comfortable my water bottle isn't going to fall out. Outside of this, I'm pretty sure this bag will last for years to come!

        I use thie bag as a briefcase most days of the week. I have also traveled with it on multiple ocassions and I have never had any problems. I took the velcro off of my bag because it made too much noise in my meetings but overall it's a fantastic bag.

          It seems like everyone in San Francisco has a Timbuk2 bag. After using the commuter bag for about 10 months now, I know why. The thing is not only durable but it does an adequate job of protecting everything inside from the elements. The top flap has a coated underside making it relatively water resistant and the bottom of the bag has a heavy duty rubber coating. The internal padded laptop sleeve fits my 15inch Dell no problem. There is also additional padding on the backside of the bag. I find the zippered file sleeve a nice feature as well since you can access it without opening the main compartment.

          I would say the only gripe I have about the bag is the plastic quick adjuster on the strap as it has a tendency to find it's way to the top of my shoulder. With some adjusting I can usually fix this problem. Another concern for some people is the capacity. If you are using it to carry a laptop don't expect to be able to fit your gym clothes or a bunch of books in it.

          Bottom line: It is a great looking bag that is well laid out and going to last forever.

          This is a great bag. I'm very happy with it with the exception of the strap. When I have the strap adjusted at the right length, unfortunately the plastic adjuster piece happens to be placed right below my shoulder, digging into me, making wearing this as a messenger bag rather uncomfortable. Otherwise I love it for all the useful pockets and divisions and I never have to worry about my laptop - it feels safe and protected inside the sleeve. Nicely padded bag.

          it has plenty of places to keep everything i need, and a few more.
          my only complaint is that there isn't much space to hold more than 1 or 2 books while my computer is in it.

          the hip strap keeps it very secure while riding my bike or motorcycle.

          buy the timbuk2 cell phone holster for the strap and you're set!

            This bag is a great bag to protect your laptop. I bought one for my sister's birthday and had to fly with it to give it to her. I got to like it so much during my trip that when I got home I bought one for myself. It is not the roomiest bag, but it is perfect for the commute to work.
