I bought this for carrying around my 13" MacBook because the description of the bag on REI's website specifically says that it fits my laptop and others of similar size (up to 11.6" in width). In fact, the laptop compartment is about 1" too short to fit a 13" MacBook (12.7" in width). It's too bad because the bag is otherwise a great size for carrying around a laptop and a book/binder or two.

I received this bag as a gift and could not have been more pleased! I use it for carrying a book and binder to class, as it as ample storage. The shouler strap has great cushioning and the optional side support strap is wonderful in helping remove the weight of a heavy load and evenly distribute it. This bag is very stylish and can be used as a large purse as well. I love its size, versatility, and comfort!! I would highly recommend this messenger bag!!

I got the bag to house a smaller laptop (HP Tablet) that is in between a netbook and a regular laptop. The screen is 12 inches. It fits in the bag nicely.

I like the corduroy compartment that keeps the laptop snug and protected. The rest of the bag holds my small 6x9 notebook and one 1/2 binder. It also has room for the required cords and cables. It is a tight fit to get it all in, but I normally do not carry the 1/2 binder.

The strap is well designed and the pad is the most comfortable I have used. The bag does have a nice carry handle situated to the back that is also very secure and comfortable.

A good bag that is well made.
