Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
I delayed getting one of these for years, but finally caved when my messenger-style purse nearly caused an accident when it swung in front of me. This bag has revolutionized my commute. I carry a change of professional-looking clothes and shoes, my lunch, something to read on my lunch hour, and all the purse-essentials. I also love the fact that it has a loop just for one of those blinky red lights. This will last forever, and will make my journeys much more enjoyable.

Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
I use this as my everyday computer bag for work. Because the actual Timbuk2 computer bags were very heavy, I chose this one instead and just put my computer in a neoprene sleeve. I think I made a good choice. It has held up very well and has a ton of room. When on business travel, I sometimes use it as my airplane carry-on - it works great for that too.
I do have one gripe: I really wish it had an external water bottle holder like the computer bags do. I've tried to attach my own but it doesn't work well.
Finally, I highly recommend buying the paded strap (if it doesn't come with it already). When I bought mine last year, it was a separate purchase, and it is great padding and makes all the difference.

Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
Switching to this bag saved my commute! I used to wear an all-purpose day pack that I've had forever and love, but the weight of a 15-inch laptop and my work clothes, plus lunch, tools, and the other essentials was killing my shoulders and making me feel unsafe when manoeuvering. I can fit my tools, flat fixer, extra batteries, and other bike necessities in the large zippered interior pocket while leaving all of the other organizer space for the things I need at work. It comfortably holds my Dell laptop, a change of clothes, my full-size camera bag, and whatever else I'm dragging with me to work in the main compartment.
Instead of buying a laptop bag (which I felt was too bulky), I carry the computer in a neoprene sleeve I made myself. It doesn't dig into my back or shift around inside the main compartment. I do recommend something like that for computers, though, as the down side to the waterproof lining is that in the unlikely event water does get inside the bag, it's just going to sit there in a puddle. However, that hasn't happened yet! The large velcro contacts on the front keep the flap from sliding sideways and allowing the elements inside.
The shoulder strap is wide enough to be comfortable without an extra padded sleeve, and the cross-strap really stabilizes the load for long rides. I've taken it up to 20 miles without developing any "strap hickeys." Earlier reviewers commented on difficulty removing it, but I found the side cam and the front-release of the cross strap very simple to negotiate. It's also easy to release the cross strap and swing it forward to get access to items inside without taking it off.
Highly recommended for daily necessities, whether you're cycling or walking.

This bag is truly, in every way, amazing. It is deceiving in it's size - you can fit just about anything in there! It's really sturdy, has TONS of storage compartments for any and every little knick-nack you want to carry around. For those other students out there who are worried about size, it can hold about two textbooks and four binders (or some variation of that) - so you really do have enough room for everything you might need. Amazingly enough, the manufacturers measurement that you can fit approximately twelve rolls of standard toilet paper is true :p

This is a GREAT bag. I use it to carry a change of clothes, lunch and misc. stuff on a 18+ mile commute. Cross strap keeps bag from slipping and the Quick-adjust, side-cam shoulder strap is something i use more than i thought i would.

I got this bag in 1995 - that's twelve years ago! First it served as a unisex bag on a bike trip through Ireland and France. Then my Timbuktu became a city bike bag, then a regular purse, then something to carry diapers or stinky yoga clothes. This is one sturdy bag that has had constant use for over a decade. I'll probably enter my senior years with my bike messenger bag draped across my shoulders.

Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
I know everyone buys it because its cool, but it is well built. Nice to know that when it dumps [rain] and my laptop is in there...its not getting dumped on too (yes that already happened to me). I think an laptop case in a medium bag is a better way to go than the laptop version of the bag. It just got too bulky when the sizes went up. Perfect for me, go try one on!

Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
This is a great all around bag. It's made of strong ballistic nylon the holds up to almost anything, and also has a waterproof lining. As of yet, nothing in my bag has even gotten wet when I'm caught in a rainstorm while cycling. The strap is sturdy and adjusts easily, and the medium size seems to hold everything I need, from day-long bicycle trips to just walking to the Farmer's Market for some fruit/vegetables. Especially handy is the removable cross strap to pull the bag closer to your body when cycling.
The only problems I have with it are a) it's a bit hard to take the bag off when it's cinched up without loosening the strap (there isn't a release on the front) and b) the straps tend to come a little loose when I lash things like rain-jackets or camera tripods on the back.
Other than these minor details, I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone.

This wonderful bag allows me to carry classes full of homework, compositons, or books to and from school with ease, regardless of the weather.
I've even carried a puppy in it. Interior lining cleans easily and the exterior sheds water and snow nicely. Here is a non gender specific biking teacher's pet for the creative teacher. Like a house that has enough closet and cabinet space, this bag stores enough to become my portable classroom. It also travels well in cars.

Comments about Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag - Medium:
Replaced my computer bag that was becoming too big and cumbersome. Using the messenger stap distributes weight more efficiently. Planning on bike riding to the train station and using this bag. I would only add one handle on the top of the bag so you can pick it up more easily. You have to grab it by the shoulder strap which is awkward.
