Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
I mountain bike with cleats (SPD shoes), but when I would occasionally ride to work with my mountain bike I would wear my regular hiking shoes. It’s not that comfortable, but it’s more convenient than wearing SPD shoes, pack a pair of walking shoes, then switch shoes at work, and change them again after work. Now with the Shimano MT31, the ride is much more efficient and I can walk with it while at work without feeling like I’m tap dancing (because of the cleats). I’m not saying that it’s the best walking shoes compare to sneakers and casual hiking shoes, after all bike shoes should be stiff for support. I am saying, however that in my opinion it’s the best pair of walking shoes for biking. While walking, the soles have good traction and only occasionally would you hear the metal cleats grind against the concrete floor. While on the bike, I feel no difference from my other mountain bike shoes. Safety is also what I had in mind when I bought these shoes for commuting. I WILL not walk down the stairs from my apartment carrying my bike & wearing my mountain bike shoes bike they lack the traction. My co-worker has told me that he has witnessed road bike/train commuters that would slip off the stairs getting off the train because they were wearing road biking shoes. I have a lot more confidence walking down and up the stairs with these shoes. There are a great pair of shoes for my needs.

I have wide feet and these fit perfectly. I would recommend these to anyone. The shoelace holder does work and works well. Stylish.

Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
These were a step up from my previous Specialized brand shoes. They can get a bit cold on early morning rides, but a good pair of wool socks can solve that. Main problem is that they are a bit narrow for my 4E gunboats.

Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
I got these shoes when I started thinking about going clipless, these are good for the price and work quite well for me during my commute.
The shoes are definitely comfortable for walking. I'd even wear these when I wasn't riding my bike. They offer support and it's easy to walk in them.
The design of the shoelace keeper doesn't make sense and doesn't really work for me. I've never had a problem with my laces getting caught, but sometimes I worry cause the keeper doesn't keep my laces in all the time. Usually I just tuck long ones into my shoe rather than deal with the keeper.

I bought this shoe as my first cycling shoe and love it. It works fine for both my MTB and Road bike. It looks great and I can wear it around the house when getting ready to set off on a ride. Having never used cycling shoes before I will never go back. It makes a huge difference.

What I like most about these shoes is they don't look like your typical bike shoe. They look like a regular pair of shoes.

Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
I've been wearing these shoes for about two years, and they're still going strong. Very durable. Not waterproof, so if you're riding in wet conditions you'll either want a waterproof sock bootie or toecaps or an over the shoe bootie. They were only available in M width when I bought them, and they are a bit narrow for my EE feet. They'd be perfect if they came in wide widths.

Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
These are GREAT shoes! I am fairly new to mountain biking and bought some PI mtb shoes that are good but offer very poor non-cliped in pedal traction. These Shimanos are fantastic clipped in or non-cliped on the flat side of my pedals for very difficult terrain (ie. bail out). I will buy another pair in a larger size for thicker wool socks for winter riding. Bottom line - awesome shoes!

Comments about Shimano MT31 Sport Shoes - Men's:
These are my first cycling shoes. Up till now, I've be mountain biking in running shoes. The stiff soles make it easier to apply power to the pedals. The cleats have more side-to-side adjustment than is necessary. I have the shoes set almost all the way to the outside to keep them from hitting the crank arms (with Shimano 647 pedals). As already noted, the lace keeper is weird, and useless.
