The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

My husband and I car-camp, hike, backpack, and paddle with our two sons, the older one a teenager, and we needed a way to deal with damp, sweaty laundry that was compatible with long drives in a station wagon. In the summer, we go on multi-sport boy scout trips for a week or more, and the wet and dirty clothes accumulate quickly. This bag is great -- laundry doesn't immediately turn into a mildewed mass, and if it gets too "ripe" before we can hit a laundromat, the bag is sturdy enough and mesh opaque enough that it can be lashed onto the roof rack (if it's not raining, of course). Even on completely "civilized" trips where we're staying in a house or hotel, it beats any other laundry bag I've seen for sturdiness and ease of carrying.
If we're going paddling for a day, it's a great way to keep small stuff -- water bottles, dry bags of food, etc. -- together if we have a long walk to a put-in, and it's especially good for carrying wet stuff back to the car.
If we remember to pack it, we always find a use for it, and if we forget it we wish we hadn't.
The main thing about this bag is that it's very well-made. No problem with the sleeve that holds the drawstring coming loose and definitely no tears. The carrying strap is securely attached and plenty wide for comfort. The mesh is fine enough and heavy-duty enough that it doesn't tend to snag. It also does not seem to absorb water or odors. I hope REI keeps up the quality control on this item.

Great bag for putting wet paddling clothes in to air out and dry. My wife also uses it to collect shells on the beach as it allows the loose sand to fall out as well.

I've been looking for a pack to take canyoneering for months. I needed something that was large enough to carry a rope, a wet suit, a dry bag, some water, etc, but that drained water fast and was tough enough to stand the abuse of getting pulled over rocks and thrown off edges.
The idea of putting a ton of drain holes or grommets in the bottom of a $200 pack was a little unsettling. Then I found this gem.
No bells or whistles, but it works like a charm. It's large enough to carry all the gear I need, is easy to carry, and drains in a heartbeat. I have used it several times and the material seems quite durable.
The price was right too!

I bought this bag to store my snorkeling gear in. It's just the right size for my and my daughter's fins, mask, and snorkel (with some room left over). The mesh is great -- things can drip dry. Also, it's easy to wash everything off while it's still in the bag.

This bag is great! I have a Kelty pack and it fits in this bag so the straps don't get damaged when I check it with the airline. It also doubles as a laundry bag or second bag if I need one. It's extremely easy to store, takes up minimal room and has been a great benefit to keeping my pack happy and healthy.
