Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
I use this mainly when I go to the farmers market and when I go walk by the beach. I don't want to carry my whole purse with me. I can put food, water bottle, money, keys, snacks, camera, extra battery, and cell phone. This is very comfortable and lightweight. There are lots of pockets. You'll forget you're carrying it. It's also very useful when I travel, because it keeps my valuables very secure. I highly recommend this product. I bought this when it was on clearance in the store five years ago. Best purchase ever (I'm an REI queen).

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
Great little bag, makes a perfect purse. Lightweight and compact, lots of pockets, well thought-out design. Secure when zipped and the flap is clipped over all, making it hard for someone to pickpocket you when in a crowd. Strap is long enough to wear crossbody and leave the bag sitting comfortably on my hip, and the card pockets make carrying a wallet unnecessary. I originally bought it for a backpacking trip in Europe but now I use it as my everyday purse. The only thing I ask for: PLEASE REI, make some more colors! I would love it if it had some kind of cute, feminine design on the flap as well. It looks a bit man-ish but other than that, it's the best purse I've ever had. My friends call it my magic bag, because so much stuff fits in such a small space!

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
One of the best things about this bag is the versatility I get out of the little guy. i use it for commuting (all my goodies I need at work fit), traveling (it fits in that pocket under the fold out tables on airplanes), photography (it has a main compartment to hold tons of stuff and under the flap theres a pocket that fits cameras perfectly for quick access), camping or hiking (it can carry all the things i need around camp freeing up pockets which keeps me cozy) my comments I get throughout the day are sweet too. girls think its cute, guys think its cool. pick one up for sure:)

I am using this product to consolidate my personal items and as a small campaign office to tote around the backroads of Clark County, Nevada.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
Very small, durable, well-made Swiss-Army-type bag (lots of pockets/features). I shortened the adjustable strap and used it as a waist pack while hiking/backpacking. Lengthened the shoulder strap, and it was a (somewhat rugged-looking) "purse" when I went out at night. Top flap deters pickpockets when it's folded over all openings and clipped. Not really large enough to hold a wallet, journal or guidebook, though.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
The REI Travel Day Bag is the perfect size for my 9 year son's electronics. The bag can fit his Nintendo DS, DS games, DS charger, his iPod Touch, and his iPod charger. He wears the bag across his body and that decreases the chance of leaving it behind at a restaurant or store.
The bag is very well made, much sturdier than the 2 Nintendo DS cases that he has already gone through. I highly recommend this bag for elementary school boys to store their electronics.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
A fantastic bag for organizing PDAs, phone, cables. It's just the right size. Yes guys -- get over the stigma of the man-purse. Only drawback is that it's just a teeny bit pricey.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
In my younger days all I carried with me were a wallet, car keys and some change. Over the years my carry-around inventory expanded to sunglasses, reading glasses, a cell phone and more.
At first I used a small belt pouch. It looked dorky, but hey, it did the job. Finally I gave into the whole "man-purse" idea... But it had to NOT look like a purse. This little gem fits that bill...
It's about the size of a small camera bag and looks like one too. I have the carbon (gray) color, which is sufficiently "manly." The strap is adjustable and long enough for a 6'1" dude like me. The fabric and zippers are durable and should last quite awhile.
The three compartments allow you to have a decent level of organization and enough room for a wallet, two pair of glasses a cell phone, MP3, keys, multi-tool, etc. Yet the whole package is not bulky. The perfect size, IMHO.
Ladies, this is a great gift for the guy in your life who needs more than his pockets to carry stuff.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
I absolutely love this bag. I am a Realtor® and have a lot of little things (PDA, lock box opener, keys, pens, cards, etc.) that I must have at my fingertips at all times. I tried dozens of bags before finding this one. It works perfectly for me and allows my hands to remain free. I own both colors. My only complaint is that there arent enough color choices.

Comments about REI Travel Day Bag:
Really, it doesn't get much better than this for a compact man-bag or purse. This is very well designed, with well though out zippers, and the buckle flap is supurb.
Only minor quibbles:
* The "cell phone" pouch with holding strap is a bit small (can't hold a smartphone).
* The back pocket doesn't really need a velcro closure (it more annoying to have to peel it open everytime you want to quickly stash something back there)
* strap is not removable (i.e. if it breaks, you can't put a new one on), but I'd guess that was a design trade off to shave some weight, which is fair.
