The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
This sleeping bag packs well. Incredibly warm, is small enough to keep in body heat, but big enough to be comfortable! Used it on several trips this year. It was warm even at temps down to 28 degrees, (South Sisters)!! I have already recommended this bag to friends! The Thermarest Prolite 4 accompanies this bag perfectly!!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I wanted a synthetic bag for the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. I have a down and a cold weather synthetic bag but needed a light weight bag that would be good for the often rainy west coast. This is a good quality bag that compresses to a very small size and is light weitht (loved that). Mountain Hardware need to do one of two things to make this a 5 star bag: each zipper needs to be at least 6 inches longer, or better yet, one side has a full zipper. I like the two zipper concept but I'm only 5'8" and in a small one man tent the zippers did not go far enough for easy entry. On warm nights my legs were too warm but it was too cool outside the bag. I know the zippers add weight but without a longer zipper to vent, it is just too warm.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
Recently took it on its maiden voyage, a car-camping trip with friends to Kettle Moraine, Wisconsin.
Was a little skeptical of the half-zips on both sides, and I wasn't sure that such a light, thin-feeling bag would be comfortable. I'm also a restless sleeper, so I thought the fit might be tight (6'0", 210).
All of my fears were assuaged by morning. The zipper system was great (love the internal taping that keeps the fabric away from the zippers) and helped me regulate my temperature nicely. I was warm (if too warm at times) and comfy the entire time.
This is a great bag. Looking forward to testing it out on some cooler nights.

I bought this bag for a 10 day biking trip, and I love it. It is super light weight, compacts well, and warm even on the nights it dipped into the 30s! To make this a perfect bag, it needs one full length zipper. I love having two zippers, but I still feel a full length zipper is needed.
All in all, I love this bag, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I bought this bag for an 8-day solo hike on Lake Superior. Even in July, Superior can get downright frigid so I wanted a bag light enough for solo, but heavy enough to keep me warm.
On the plus side this bag is amazingly comfortable for the size. It packs to the size of a jar of peanut butter, but at 5"11 I had plenty of room. It also kept me nice and toasty...most of the time.
A few nights dipped into the low 50s, maybe upper 40s, and I got downright chilly. Although I had thermals on, I needed to put on a second pair of clothes on top, along with my wool cap to stay warm. I've been through about 30 Wisconsin winters now so I'm not one to complain about cold, but it almost felt like I was wearing just what I would normally wear outside, except I was in the sleeping bag! I would like to get one more Fall hike in before the end of the year, but I don't believe this bag would be comfortable at 32 degrees.
As a "summer" bag I would give this high marks, but I don't find it practical for 3-season. I can pack a heavier set of thermals, maybe a blanket, but then why pay more for a lightweight bag?

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
The first night I tested this bag, I put all my faith into it being accurately rated. I knew the temp would drop to near freezing. As I turned out, the temp dipped to 28. I admit that I was somewhat chilled (wearing a full layer of microweight wool underwear), but I slept well. The next night, the temps were in the low forties, and I didn't notice the weather at all. I feel that 32 is an accurate rating if you are a warm sleeper, as I am. I really like the lightness and compressibility of this bag. I am taking it on my next multi-day adventure and will need to rely on it for several cold nights.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
When this bag arrived, I wondered about the lack of loft - how could it keep me warm? I have slept in snow caves, igloos, lots of backpacks and climbs over many years and know how a warm bag feels. But I suppressed my doubts and went on a two week camping trip to Montana. When the temperature got below 40 deg F, even with long johns, thermal socks, several fleeces, and a hat, I was cold all night.
I guess that Mountain Hardware, trying hard for an ultra-light bag, just went too far. Or my bag, during manufacture, didn't get its fair share of fill.
Good old REI took it back, of course, and now I have a bag better suited to my needs.

My first trip with this bag was up to the Boundary Waters. At night the temp dropped to between the low 30's and high 20's, with rain and high wind. This bag kept me warm the whole time. One night I had to wear some extra layers at night but I think that okay considering it was in the 20's.
I'm about 6'0 and I toss a lot while I sleep and the bag has plenty of room for me.
My second trip with the bag was a year long deployment in northern Iraq. The small size made it great to bring along on overnight and weeklong missions. Northern Iraq can get pretty cold in winter and this bag did it's job keeping me warm.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
I am impressed with this sleeping bag. I have been using it for light overnights in the White Mts. in humid, cold, and sometimes wet conditions when it has been around 32 degrees.
I am most impressed by how small the bag compresses, into the very nice stuff sack it comes with. The bag is also very lightweight and the fill lofts-up easily after being compressed. I am glad that I went with this bag and not a down because of the wet conditions I've been in. The bag dries quickly.
I am a "warm" person and the bag has kept me very comfortable in freezing temperatures. The bag has two half-length zippers. I like that the zippers go in both directions which makes ventilating easy. I have used this bag with a cotton bag-liner and a minimal, 3/4 length air mattress.
At times the bag can be a bit constricting and at 6' tall, I sometimes wish I'd bought a long version. It's important to realize that this bag is engineered to be lightweight, and from that standpoint, it is a very impressive and well-made piece of equipment. I am very happy with it!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina +32 Sleeping Bag - Regular:
Just took this bag out for the first chilly weekend... performed like a chram. It was about 35 the first night, i slept in a tshirt and sweat pants and felt fine, the next night it was 25, after putting on a sweat shirt for the night i stayed fairly warm.
My favorite thing about this bag is the zipper system, the extra tape on the inside prevents them from snagging which is a huge plus on cold nights.
The provided stuff sack has sinch straps so it compresses to a very small size.
