      I am using the backpack for every day use. I had purchsed the Sherpani Vida backpack but the top is more open and I was afraid of losing things. This one has more storage compartments that makes every thing organized. I do not have to worry about losing things out of this. Love how the stap can be a sling or backpack. I purchsed the Grizzly color and I like it.

        This bag is almost perfect. . . I have added rings to each side so that it can be carried across my body with a shoulder strap. I love how, when it hangs to my side front, it is so easy to access the contents - there is plenty of room - even for a camera bag - and the light interior color makes it easy to see your stuff. The bag actually reminds me of those old woven baskets that fishermen used to put their fish in - with the design of the top and the way it flips up. I can see where it would be easy to overload the bag; but that is a user flaw, not a design flaw.

          I didn't even go in to buy this bag, but it totally surprised me when I saw it in person. It has a quality look, and it's soft yet holds its shape extremely well. The many compartments inside, and outside make this bag very versatile, and able to house many small items we have - sunglasses, water bottle, cosmetics, cell phone, PDA, ipod, daytimer, and still have lots of room for a book or two, or a sweater, a heavy scarf, or lunch. It is a very good size, looks like a women's back pack without looking like you are about to hit the trail this minute. So you can show up with this bag in almmost all the places (other than a job interview) without looking out of place. Totally great bag for showing up to work, to vacation, and almost everything in between.

          I'm using this as an everyday purse now, and there are only 3 things that I don't like about it: 1) in order to get to the main compartment, you have to swing it off your back/shoulder and put it on a table, and you need both hands to zip it open and shut, most of the time. This becomes annoying very quickly. 2) It's so roomy, that when full of all your stuff, it becomes pretty darn heavy, so it tends to want to fall off my shoulder all the time if I bend over forward even slightly. In order for this not to happen, I have to wear it like a backpack, but then I can't get into it quickly enough for my liking (see #1 above). 3) I keep getting comments from people about how big it is for a purse, and they laugh at that. That's also annoying, of course. Other than these things, it's great, but just be aware that the main compartment's "lid" doesn't want to open and shut easily at all, and a table top is needed when getting in and out of it.

          I totally love this bag [...] I have all 3 colors (tan, blue, and dark brown) [...] It is - bar none - the best purse/backpack I've ever owned. It serves me beautifully, carries my multiplicity of junk, my water bottles, etc and keeps it shape. Hurry and order it before they sell out, even if you have to get the ugly dark brown color!

          It is amazing to notice how many other people have this bag. It is absolutely wonderful. I bought a spare in case mine is ever lost or just wears out in ten years. I really wish it came in black. I check the store and the web site frequently in hopes and I've seen it in two browns, a tan, green and blue. I once met a woman who claims she saw one in black but she didn't buy it that day and when she returned a week later only browh was there. Urban legend? Who knows -- but this bag is legendary.

            I originally bought this for a trip to New Zealand and it was wonderful! The back zip pocket was a great hiding place for passports and there was plenty of room for snacks, sunglasses and a travel book! I now use it on a daily basis as a purse and love all the compartments. The side pocket unzips to hold a water bottle!

              I love this bag! I can easily organize all the stuff that I carry around everyday! I don't lose things in this purse because there is a special place for everything. There is plenty of extra room in the main compartment, so if you have to throw something in it every now and then, it's very convenient. This is one of the best, smartest, and most inexpensive purchases I've made.

              Since I'm short (5'), I had to change the straps to shorten them enough to wear the pack properly. Compact enough to stow in a drawer, the Nikole holds my work "stuff" nicely coming and going. I would have preferred a denim or medium blue but settled for brown. It suits me so well, that color and the straps became minor considerations. It came in very handy during my last vacation. A colleague at work just bought one after seeing and examining my pack. I find that the best recommendation.
