Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought these previous to a 2007 Hawaii trip for volcano hiking and just general walking around... I wanted a light hiker /running shoe mix and liked the look of these as well...
they are very comfortable, and do not feel stiff when new. although they will break in some. I just unpacked my 2nd pair of these that I bought with xmas gift cards... I wore them every day almost for 15 months.... would highly recommend you try a pair on...

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
They were fairly rigid shoes when I bought them but I thought they would break-in and be more comfortable as time went on. There was never a day I wore these that my feed didn't ache after taking them off. I even replaced the insoles but it didn't help. I eventually took them back for a refund.

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I picked this shoe up on sale about 1 year ago and since then I have wanted to wear it every day! It is a great spring, summer, fall shoe, it breathes well so it is not meant for winter. I am a diabetic and my feet were always killing me with this shoe I have not had any foot pain after wearing them all day! Great traction and great fit.

These are comfortable, and they "wear well" no matter how long the walk/hike.

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I put these to a pretty brutal test over two weeks in Italy with a backpack. They have incredible traction on a great variety of terrain, sometimes for 6-7 hours nonstop (blister-free!). And though not claimed to be waterproof (there's a pricier Gore-tex version), they kept my feet completely dry while walking for two hours in real rain. They are a tad stiff, a bit more like a hiking boot than a true trailrunner. But I like that in this kind of shoe, for the support and bruising protection on rocky trails. My only concern, like another reviewer noticed, the rubber at the tip of one toe is just starting to peel off. I'll try to glue it down and hope for the best. The only shoe that competes with this in my experience are the Lowa "low-top" versions of classic Lowa light hikers (like the fantastic but expensive Lowa Renegade).

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought these shoes a couple of months ago and I have been very pleased so far. They are very light weight and comfortable, and they look good with jeans. I use them as my every day shoes and they seem to be holding up well. Typically I wear the inside lining around the heel out of a pair of shoes by now.
My only complaint is that they scuff/marr easily which gives them the "well worn in" look quickly. Overall a good shoe.

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought these for a day hiker based on previous (good) experiences with Vasque boots. They are very comfortable, but I am disappointed with their durability. They showed signs of serious wear after just a couple long day-hikes - seams splitting, stiffness gone, etc. And after a summer of weekend hiking, they are basically trashed. I would not recommend these as a hiking shoe.

I am a dude who loves shoes...honestly. This Vasque is the best overall shoe I have had, ever!! My ex-girlfriend actaully liked the way they looked. I never had owned a pair of Vasque's before, but decided to try something new...and glad I did.
Super comfortable, good looking, fits well, multiple uses (hiking, b-packing, school, everyday use. Really...I don't rate many things 5 out of 5 but this shoe rocks!!
I have used them in the North Cascades, Oregon coast, and around Whistler BC. Buy these shoes and you won't be sad!

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Have had 2 pairs (because I liked the way they looked). Newer model was more comfortable, less stiff. But in both cases the seams started to give after a few months of very light hiking. Wore the latest pair on a long hike and they literally fell apart. Toe unglued. Side-seam completely separated. I give up on this shoe.

Comments about Vasque Mantra Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I am very pleased with these shoes. They are one of the few things that I was pleased with on my last hike. I found no need to really break these shoes in as I hit the trail with them right out of the box. I was in rain for 2 days and my feet never got wet! Plus, the traction was better than expected.
