Quick-drying Supplex® nylon is soft, lightweight, durable and wrinkle-resistant
Fabric provides UPF 50+ sun protection, shielding skin from harmful ultraviolet rays
Hand pockets with key/coin pocket; two cargo pockets and back pockets with rip-and-stick closures
Left cargo pocket has separate cell phone pocket for convenience; right cargo pocket has a zippered closure for extra security
Both cargo pockets have grommet holes for drainage
Elastic waist with built-in nylon webbing belt for a secure fit
Gusseted crotch facilitates freedom of movement for increased comfort
Lower-leg side-seam zippers allow easy on/off over footwear

My REI Sahara's normally see the standard dry hiking days. Today, however, it was a totally different turnout. Started trail running with the pants in the misty morning for a 2k feet ascent and they felt fine, they were not overheating inside. Couple hours later 48.2 F degrees @ 9K feet elevation with heavy on-off rain/mist/fog, and winds up to 25mph! The pants performed great! Kept my socks and undies dry! This was based on 2 hours spent hiking at the top of the mountain in the weather conditions described + the trail run.

Pants are easily compressed and lightweight!

Thanks REI for the great value for the price.

These are my favorate pair of pants for warm or hot climates. I can stash a ton of stuff in the pockets including camera lens, water bottles, etc.
I love these pants for events as I can stash items in the pockets that might make me a target for theives if I were to carry them in the open at events.

These pants have a great fit and move freely with you in a variety of activities. The legs are very easy to zip on/off and the bottoms have zippers to get them over your shoes. My only complaint would be in heavy activity with the legs zipped on they do retain heat, but then again all I have to do is zip them off. (Best of both worlds...)
