Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
I can only assume these pants underwent a redesign - they are nothing like the slacks in the picture. I tried on a pair in store; they were straight through the leg, slim, and nicely cut. I decided to buy a couple of pairs online, but received some billowy pants that flare out from the waist and taper towards the ankle.
The reality is 90% of the problem is my own. I'm a short guy, and it can be hard to find clothes that fit well. I was excited to find some pants that were cut appropriately and fit off the rack. Alas, these aren't them. If I were 6 feet tall, I could pull off baggy pants like this. But I'm not, and that's not what I ordered. Short men, don't wear pants like this! They make you look like a hot air balloon!
If these were redesigned, please bring back the straight legged ones! (these are more akin to 'relaxed', 'baggy', or 'loose fit') If not, please fix the picture to make it match the product. I've just spent half an hour trying to make the pairs I've received look like the ones in the photo, but there's too much extra fabric around the thighs (they overlap). And that taper...

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
I have a short inseam and these pants come in a 28" inseam. So I bought a pair and not only did they fit perfect, they were immediately comfortable. They are very packable, look fine coming right out of a pack or suitcase. I have since purchased 3 other pairs because I wear them all the time - while hiking and then down to the local pubs. Best pair of casual pants I have ever purchased.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
i'm 5'4, around 125 pounds so i like the small inseam.
Nice pants, although it was a bit tight around the thighs. I prefer a more relaxed fit.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
These are nice pants. As a shorter guy, it's hard to find anything that fits "off the rack." I like some of the Columbia pants, but I have to have them shortened. And that's a pain AND an additional expense. These fit great. The material is little thinner than I anticipated, but it doesn't seem to be flimsy. I'm just curious to see how they handle colder weather. I like all the extra pockets, although the zippers could be a little easier to grasp and use. Overall, I think these are a pretty good deal: comfy and versatile enough to go from (casual) office to weekends.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
These are great pants. [...]the ones I got looked just like the picture, and fit great. Comfortable, with lots of discrete zippered pockets. You could almost wear them with a suit and say they were silk pants. I just ordered some more.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 28'' Inseam:
Sizing was a slight surprise, since I typically buy jeans that are 31" waist and 30" length, and khakis that are 32" waist and 30" length. What fit me with these turned out to be 32" waist and 28" length (note that this was in August 2007).
Once I found the right size, they were great - very comfortable, lightweight, and extra pockets for travel. I took them to Barbados, where they were the perfect thing to wear when I was wearing long pants.
